Some Matter devices unavailable

Hello all,

So for a couple of weeks I’ve had 2x Shelly Plug S Gen 3 connected directly via Matter to Homey but suddenly since about a week they stopped working (simply says unavailable / offline in the homey app). The Nuki Smart Lock Pro Gen 5 works fine and is also connected via Thread over Matter.

Is there a way to repair/fix those unavailable devices or see somewhere an overview of Matter devices and a way to re-establish them in some way?

If I restart Homey they appear online again but after a few minutes same thing.

Thanks

I run into the same issue with latest firmware 12.5.2. The devices are available in Apple Home app, but home show it as unreachable. I restarted all my thread border routers, the homey too. Won’t work :frowning:

Got a similar problem. I have a flow that resets my modem by switching off and on a matter powerplug. However, since 12.5.2 it won’t switch on anymore. I also had 12.5.2.rc3 running and that didn’t had that problem.

Seems matter now needs wifi instead of thread network?

That will depend on the device: if it uses Matter-over-Thread it will connect using Thread;

if it uses Matter-over-wifi it will connect using wifi.

I had to unplug the matter device (shelly plug gen 3) and after plugging it back in (power) it came back.

Als have same issue aqara u200 lock via matter after a few days it loses connection with homey. Need to restart homey to let is be online again

Maybe it suffers from interference by your (or your neighbor’s) 2.4GHz wifi signal?

Thread uses the same radio and thus the same 2.4GHz frequency band as zigbee @ Homey

Next, Homey uses the same chip for Thread & zigbee, called Multiprotocol, which comes with a price for you. When you either use many Thread and/or many zigbee devices, things are going south on one side or either side.
Multiprotocol is considered a bad idea in hindsight, and it’s recommended to use separate hardware if you like to use both Threat and zigbee next to eachother.

Below you’ll find info on how to tune the channels
Note: when adding your first Matter-over-Thread / zigbee device, Homey picks the best channel to use.
It’s important you’ve fixed the wifi 2.4GHz channel to preferrably 1 or 11 prior to that.
