I have 21 Sonoff M5 light switches using Matter technology. Unfortunately, they always lose connection every few days and cannot be switched from the Homey app and the automation processes do not run. In the meantime, I can switch from the eWelink app, but not with the Homey Pro.
I always get the error message Timeout after 10000ms.
What can I do? How can I operate this reliably?
What should I do differently?
Do you use Zigbee devices as well @ Homey?
Because Thread and Zigbee share the same chip, it’s not recommended to use both protocols at the same time.
You could choose to use a 3rd party Thread border router f.i., like Google Hub
Did you find a solution to your issue? I too have a number of matter devices which intermittently lose connection with my Homey Pro (and also Homey Self Hosted on RPi 4b). I’ve a mix of matter and Zigbee devices so would prefer a firmware/software fix rather than swapping out costly hardware.
Any news here? I just started adding few Matter over Thread devices to network with predominantly Zigbee devices and they have been acting up since day one.
Seems like matter is a frickin mess, relying on it‘s protocol hodgepodge. Thread devices’ IPs apparently can’t be resolved without internet connection so they don‘t work when Homey is offline. Really frustrating …
Is there another Thread router around broadcasting a Thread network? Has the Homey Pro experienced any power outages?
I use my Homey Pro as my primary Thread border router but I also have an Aqara, Dirigera, and Apple TV 4K that broadcast the same Thread network. I lost power to my Homey Pro and it took a long while for the Thread network to refresh and rebuild.
I use both Zigbee and Thread and haven’t had any problems using both. I wonder if changing the Zigbee channel would help since both Zigbee and Thread are in that 2.4GHz range. Or changing your 2.4 GHz WiFi channel too?
