I’ve recently developed a new Homey Pro app called Trafikkollen, which integrates Swedish public transport and road traffic information into Homey.
The app is currently in testing, and I’d really like to get some feedback from the community before submitting it for certification.
However, I’ve run into a bit of a problem. I’ve tried posting about the app and sharing the test version, but my posts have been flagged as spam and hidden.
I’m a little confused about how developers are supposed to find testers and collect feedback if we’re not allowed to share links to our apps.
I’m not trying to advertise or promote anything commercially. The app is free, and I’m simply looking for people who would be willing to test it, report bugs and suggest improvements.
So my question is: What’s the correct way to share a new Homey app with the community and ask for testers?
Is there a specific category, process or set of rules developers should follow?
I’d appreciate any guidance, as I’d really like to involve the community in testing and improving the app before its official release.
I can read the posts.
You probably got “muted” by the Discourse bot, because you started several very similar topics in a short while, as novice forum user
To answer your question: this forum is the right place!
I see that your forum account is relatively new. That might be a factor in the auto-flag mechanism. As that works (partly) based on your amount of activity on the forum (trust level).
thank you peter, i should have read a little bit more than i did. I could edit the message after waiting 10 minutes. are you able to see my posts now that i have edited them ?
Yeah, I managed to get them posted and another user was kind enough to share the link to the app page. However, I still have two other posts intended for the Apps section of the forum that are hidden.
Below is the message I received from the system, but even after editing the posts, they still haven’t appeared.
I might just try Reddit instead to see if I can find some testers there.
Hello,
This is an automated message from Homey Community Forum to let you know that your post was hidden.
Your post was flagged as spam: the community feels it is an advertisement, something that is overly promotional in nature instead of being useful or relevant to the topic as expected.
This post was hidden due to flags from the community, so please consider how you might revise your post to reflect their feedback. You can edit your post after 10 minutes, and it will be automatically unhidden.
However, if the post is hidden by the community a second time, it will remain hidden until handled by staff.

That’s strange indeed, as that message suggests that someone on the forum clicked the spam button. But maybe it is a generic message, also used if the Discourse system temporarily auto-hides them.
I cannot find the two topics for which you posted the flagged notification, but when I click the links you included, I see that they are indeed flagged and unlisted (hidden/not searchable). I do however can see your reply (which you deleted: is this now live, this is very confusing) to the second topic.
Maybe let it rest a while and check if they get listed again or create a new topic with a different name.
If it still does not work you might want to send a PM to the moderators group for assistance.
