Homey pro icw bridge

How to detect a bluetooth device which is in range of the homey bridge. Is there any sample code how you do this?

You can view it here
https://tools.developer.homey.app/tools/ble

But it does not show the bluetooth devices in range of the bridge.

How do you know they are in range of the bridge?

Because they are 1 meter away and if i change the bridge by the homey pro then they are detected.

What exactly are you trying to do? I don’t think the bridge can act as a Bluetooth extender, if that’s what you’re trying to do.

Hi Robert, when i bought the bridge i assumed that if i have a bluetooth device out of range of my homey pro, that i could connect it to the bridge which is in range of the bluetooth device. So not extend but attached. What is otherwise the function of bluetooth on the bridge?

That’s an incorrect assumption.

Combined with a Homey Pro, the Bridge can serve as a simple Zigbee/Z-Wave repeater, or an IR/433Mhz transmitter.

More info here: https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us/articles/7263667137052-Setting-up-Satellite-Mode

The Bridge was developed to be able to control Zigbee/Z-Wave/BLE/IR/RF devices for a Homey Cloud account.

Then i don’t get the purpose of a bridge , if i look at the website Homey Bridge they promote it also as a ble device. But when i read your response, it can only independend connect to bluetooth and not when it is part of a homey pro setup. Is there any solution to connect all bluetooth devices in my house to Homey if they are not all in range for the homey pro.

AFAIK, there is no pure Homey-based solution for that (it’s possible with the ESPHome Bluetooth proxy, but that would require running Home Assistant).

Hmm …

Well, thát is only when you use it as bridge to Homey cloud/premium…
NOT as satellite to a Pro.
(I do agree Athom’s ads are not 100% clear)

If you look at the roadmap at the Satellite part, Ble is not mentioned at all.

So, Pro + bridge as sat = no Ble @ bridge
