I have a homey pro and have had some connection issues depending on the placement of the device.
Does the Bridge extend the range for the protocols it supports?
For instance I I had the pro downstairs and the bridge upstairs would BLE devices connect to the hub with the best signal?
Yes, the Bridge extends the range of the protocols in case of a Homey Pro 2023 or later. This feature is called “Satellite mode”. The Bridge will become a Zigbee and Z-Wave router, just like any other mains-powered Zigbee/Z-Wave device. BLE, 433MHz and Infrared are extended via your network.
Thanks
What do you mean extended via my network? It connects to the bridge and the bridge communicates to the Pro?
I mainly just want to ensure that if I get it, it will help connect devices that are out of range or in the fringe and not consistently communicating in automations.
The ZigBee and Z-Wave connects directly to your Homey Pro, so the bridge must be in range of your Homey Pro if you want to extend Zigbee or Z-Wave. The 433, IR and BLE devices are extended over your network, so the Homey Pro and Homey Bridge must be within the same (WiFi) network if you want to extend those.
Gotcha. They will be on the same WiFi. Thanks!
