Homey Dashboards — Megathread

Lookong forward to see a Water meter in there as well please.
Thanks!

Yes, there must be a measure_power capability in the device to be shown as energy usage. That’ the same behaviour also for energy overview in device list.
If the app uses a custom capability or subcapability, the developer should add at least a “hidden” standard capability for energy.

Hi,
When I create multiple columns, the default column is always the first column.
This means that if I have 3 columns, I need to swipe 2x to the right to see the last one.

I would welcome the option to choose a default column. This way I can choose (in a 3 column dashboard), column 2 as the default, so I only need to swipe once to see the last column.

Now I am aware that in case of the need to see all columns, this does not solve anything, however, I typically am only interested in one or two of the 3 at any given time.

As an example, I have the same setup on my android homescreen: it has a default page (page 2), and swipe left to page 1 = show “current data” page (e.g. packages, energy, weather, …), swipe right (to page 3) shows other stuff, like Contacts, Calendar, Mail.

Similarly, I would foresee a use case on my Homey Dashboard to have:

  • column 1: Today’s energy usage
  • column 2: Current energy usage (AND DEFAULT PAGE)
  • column 3: This month and this year’s usage

Thanks for considering

@Harwin Hi, When will it be possible to auto update a web frame or snaphot of a camera?

This is probably only useful for a really small group of Homey users, but I’ve added a Followers widget to my Mastodon app (test version)…

I build in the refresh of the webframe yesterday and it is released today. So if you update the app you can use it. :ok_hand:

Wouldn’t it be nice if you create a climate card for e.g. your airco, that you can start/stop it by tapping the card? Now you need to open the details, second tab or create a device card next to it.
Or add a toggle inside the card.

You can do this, using “Fully Kiosk single app” and the homey app, “Dashboard controller”.
This gives the added bonus of bering able to lock the tablet to show the Homey Dashboard and the option to open apps on the tablet from tiles on Dashboards.

See this for more info:

That worked. I missed that I needed to add the device. Thank you.

Dashboard keeps crashing after update 9.0.0 on Samsung tab A9+.

It would be nice (for a tablet) if there was an option to directly load a certain dashboards if you start the Homey app. So the dashboard is shown immediately after startup.

Hi @Harwin ,

Thanks for the update. Awesome!

One of the webframes I want to auto refresh gives a white screen after refresh.
It is this simple url:
https://www.meteobelgium.net/webcam_other/gand/photo.jpg”
Any ideas?

Do you know when the auto refresh Will be available for cameras?

Thanks!

Also on the phone. Or create a phone widget to acces the dashboard directly.
Just a default dashboard. And off course the option to order them instead of numbering them.

No I’m not running any custom widgets. It looks like none of the Apps I use don’t have any widgets available yet.
When it stalls the whole App is unresponsive so I don’t think there is a way to send the log.
Thinking about this further there have been very frequent updates to the Beta software. I believe that once a new update is available on test flight the App on the device running the dashboard locks up. Is this expected behaviour?

[App][Pro] Playstation - #121 by Emiliano_Quetimporta lookin’ good!

Maybe this works for you (in the meantime) :

Mobile app sometimes crashes on startup after latest update.

Same here, Android 14 tablet S9+
App v9.0.0.1620

Phone is not auto-updated :grimacing:

I have apple

Hi Harwin, happy to see these new feature
Great job as always!
Just 2 suggestions:

  1. The Zone control Widget is not aligned with the column layout depending on the zoom of the font/screen:

I have two Galaxy Tab S9 Fe and on this one with a smaller font size is not aligned.

  2. It would be awesome to choose the meter’s parameter to display. I have a shelly 3EM and on one of the three meters there is the overall energy in use.

The widget choose automatically the power but I’d like to show the total power
