@Andi 26d ago I confirmed the new App-Store incl. the new Homey App and the new HA-Integration on Shelly Wall Display XL in the 2.6 Beta, 2.6 official release works much better.

Can you display the app in landscape mode? Because it is fairly useless to me otherwise. Luckily we have the alternative app of Andi that works very well by now.

Of course you can use the Homey app on the Shelly Wall Display XL in landscape mode. It would actually be pretty bad if you couldn’t. But in the end, the Shelly Wall Display is basically nothing more than an Android tablet as far as the app is concerned.
Thanks for your swift reply. I thought so too; however, it was impossible for me to get the app to recognize the display was in horizontal position. No idea why though, the Shelly app itself works fine in both landscape and portrait mode. Just tried again and it really does only display in portrait. To be honest, the same goes for the iphone version of the app; that does also display portrait only. Is there maybe a difference between phone and tablet version of the app? Are there different versions?

On my Xiaomi tablet, the landscape mode does work. It seems like the app is locked to portrait on a phone

Thanks for your reply. By now, Steffen confirmed that the iPhone app is locked to portrait mode, which is fine since that way the screen is very usable.
However, my Shelly Wall Display X2i cannot be rotated to landscape. Steffen is using a different Shelly display with explicit settings for the screen orientation. These settings are missing from the X2i unfortunately.
Well. Just hope It will be fixed sooner or later. For now I use the Shelly Wall Display app from Andi which works pretty great (although the app does not always display on the Shelly somehow; this is not caused by the Homey app)

The X2i has a built in sensor to detect orientation and adjust the screen between Landscape (the default) and Portrait. If your display isn’t doing this, check and make sure you are running the latest firmware. The functionality to change display orientation on the Wall Display XL was added to the settings in a recent firmware update. But the XL is a manual setting only, unlike the X2i that is automatic.

Thanks for your remark but as I stated earlier “the Shelly app itself works fine in both landscape and portrait mode” so the hardware does detect the orientation and even all other gui elements work fine. Just the Homey app does not adhere to this.
