To me, this seems more like someone trying to gain views and followers with a video that actually based on… well, nothing.
There’s just too little ground to make any speculation about this reasonable, I think.
Fair point of view, but do you really think it’s pure speculation based on nothing? Am I reading too much into this? I wouldn’t have shared my prediction if I didn’t think it was worth at least having a conversation about.
You probably aren’t aware the first Homey models had speech recognition, but this was replaced by Google/Alexa integration and ended only 4y ago “because they can do a better job”.
Google isn’t imho “Sorry, I don’t understand” is the most used response.
The LG Homey is getting an AI voice assistant, so it would make sense that that rubs off on the regular Homey. Besides that, even Home Assistant has a voice assistant nowadays.
it will just be termonology but google is just dropping his voice assistant for AI… just a thought ai will in the near future never run on a homey so it will be an integration and/or a subscription, and what are the use cases for a homey without a speaker and a microphone…
you are looking at the same problems when the first voice assistants came to the market, hee i have a cool tech, what are the potential use cases… instead of i have a problem how to solve it.
Yes good point, I guess it might just be a way to run an LLM locally with an integration to another voice assistant rather than a native Homey voice assistant.
You can do this with an app today already.
I made one to test this with telegram as the input by using chatgtp and whisper got quite fare but there where some issues with memory of the current status of the home.
So it would use to much tokens and get expensive if used extensively.
