If you have motion sensor that can be triggered by a neighbor I advise you to reposition the sensor. If this happens with camera’s please adjust the detection zones or get camera’s that support detection zones.
Don’t try to fix this with flows, it defeats the purpose of this app in my opinion.
It works find. In fact it always works fine. It’s only me who thought when I disarmed when detection was present, the red led was brighting on the keyboard. So for me, it reactivated the alarm.
In fact, it disarmes like you explain. Sorry for my mistake and for loosing your time.
I’ve found the only truly reliable setup—before iOS Critical Alerts became available—is using a Twilio account to send an SMS to myself.
The SMS comes from a specific number, which I’ve configured on my iPhone with a custom alarm sound that is very loud and long. I’ve also allowed it to bypass all Do Not Disturb and Focus modes, so it always comes through, even during Sleep Focus. I even made sure it doesn’t forward to my Apple Watch to avoid a silent tap instead of a proper wake-up.
Twilio isn’t free, but I gladly pay for these messages to be fast and reliable—especially for something as important as a Heimdall alarm.
I just tested the Critical Alert option from Homey, but personally found it not loud or intense enough to fully rely on as a wake-up alarm.
That said, be cautious with false positives—this SMS alarm setup is extremely annoying by design
Just did, looks very interesting. More control over the sounds etc. Need to test a bit but this could be an improvement over a “twillio / sms” setup indeed! Thanks for pointing this out!
Hello everyone, I am new to Homey Pro and am currently trying to check all open sensors in the house. I am trying to create a flow where I want to use the If card under “Sensor active during check” to check whether the sensor is actually active in monitoring mode (partial/full).
Unfortunately, I can’t transfer any variables from the start in the map. Am I doing something wrong?
You can select those, when you tap into a text field in one of the next cards in line, and instead of entering text, tap the little tag symbol on the right side of that field.
Now a list of tags and variables pops up > now you can select one of the tags provided by the first card. These are always present on top of the list.
When selected, you can decide to enter text around the tag.
Unfortunately, this does not appear to be the case with this Heimdall card.
I only receive the pre-filled list of all sensors from the Heimdall configuration.
I would like to continue querying only with the sensors that are configured as relevant in the Heimdall configuration and skip the sensors that have not been configured.
Odd. Try refreshing the page. In my experience the web app often works with cached data.
Otherwise open the web app in a private tab, to ensure all recent data gets loaded.
@ChrisWat please use the Heimdall topic for support, and read up on how the app works. The sensor check at arming takes the Surveillance Mode you’re switching to in account.
Hello DaneedeKruyff and everyone who is helping me.
I think I understand the app and it works great. I would like to use the sensor query for a slightly different purpose, as I want to know which alarm-relevant windows in the house are open so that I can react to them in a different flow, regardless of the status change of the alarm.
Unfortunately, when I check the Sensor Active card, which I check via the Check Status of All Sensors card, it triggers all sensors that are configured in Heimdall, see image of the bathroom sensor: window. This is not configured, but the status is still displayed. In the Device card, only the preselection list of the Heimdall sensor list appears, but not the variable view from the previous card. Is this generally not possible?
Apologies if I am posting in the wrong forum; unfortunately, as a new user, it is not so intuitive to navigate. If I am doing something wrong, please briefly explain what the correct approach would be
Can’t you just create a flow that does not relate to Heimdall?
Sounds like a “if this sensor does this, then that” issue. The only drawback being that you need to make it for eacht sensor.
Exciting news! I’ve bought a big renovation house. In my current home, I have a Vanderbilt alarm panel with wired magnetic contacts and door controllers. I also use Philips Hue throughout the house. Everything works together via Homey.
Now I’m considering the following setup for the new, larger house:
• Nuki or Aqara smart locks
• Heimdall alarm app
• Wireless magnetic contacts
• Wireless PIR sensors
• Philips Hue Pro
But will so many wireless devices work reliably?
Or should I go for KNX and Vanderbilt with wired magnetic contacts instead?
