Heimdall - Let Homey watch over your home

Thx you ! i will check it.

already tested on your side ? or by reading on this topic?

I have 2 at home.
The Aqara movementsensor is good too.

I have one also

According my test. Aqura is just little bit better than fibago. I win 30cm for the detection.

I also use the Fibaro senors and do get 5 meters at least. I am curious why it is different in your case

I have three Fibaro doorcontacts en motion sensors.
All seen by Heimdal but 2 sensors in the hallway (motion and doorcontact) do not trigger an alarm.

I tried moving them to another zone, rename them, rename the zone.
All those changes are seen by Heimdal yet no alarm triggered

So Homey sees motion and detects the changes in the doorcontact.
What could i be doing wrong?

Do you have a router device near to Homey (any mains powered zwave device)? B/c Homey’s own range is quite short.

I think he ment the range for detecting movement. Not the Z-wave range i think?

Ah you’re right!

Hi @Ronald_Otto,

Can you please stop and start Heimdall, wait for a couple of minutes and trigger the fibaro sensors that are not triggering Heimdalls Alarm State. Next set the Surveillance Mode to an Armed State and trigger them again. After that please send me a diagnostics report and let me know you’ve sent it.

Yes, thx for clarification

Stopping and starting the app resolved the issue. Sent you the logs anyway. Not sure if you need it.

If it’s working it’s working
I did look at the logs and they look ok, I see nothing wrong now so I can’t explain what happened earlier.

Must be a glitch in the Matrix.
Thanks for looking.

Bug report:
Some Philips Hue Motion sensors are not working in Heimdall.
My guess is that the new model (v2) is working in Heimdall, the previous (v1) model is not.

Motion is detected on all my sensors (both versions) by both Homey and Hue.
Lights go on etc.

Only inside the Heimdall app settings / devices, these older motion sensors have older “last seen” dates. So Homey and Heimdall are not communicating well for these v1 sensors.

Probably easy to fix in Heimdall, as Homey can see the devices and detect motion, only Heimdall cannot?

Ps: I checked, it’s not a battery issue. It’s only in Heimdall that these sensors are not working.

Hi @K_Rens,

I don’t think we’re dealing with a bug here as Heimdall has no knowledge of specific devices or their functions. Homey Device apps translate specific devices functions in to generic device capabilities for which the Homey Firmware acts as an abstraction layer towards Heimdall. For motion sensors Heimdall just looks for/listens to an alarm_motion capability in a device.
It seems somehow some of your sensors are not properly showing their alarm_motion capability towards Heimdall.
So, let’s try to see if we can fix that. Could you please stop and start the Philips Hue app, next wait a couple of minutes (until there is no spinning circle on the Philips Hue app) and then restart Heimdall. Next, after waiting a couple of minutes please send a Diagnostics Report from Heimdall.

Btw, which Philips Hue app are you using? The one with or without use of the bridge?

Looks like a startup issue (race condition).
When Homey is (re)starting, it doesn’t work.
When I then manually restart Hue and Heimdall, all sensors start working.
Thank you for the advice! Glad it’s working now.

Glad it’s working for you now, thanks for reporting.

hello,

i check all status of the windows and i have virtual devices. can I exclude virtual devices? Thanks.

Heimdall does not know about devices (or virtual devices) it just looks at device capabilities. Door- and Window sensors have the alarm_contact capability and that’s what Heimdall checks on.

If you have a Virtual Device that’s not to be considered a Window- (or door)sensor you should reconsider using the alarm_contact capability for that device.

hello, it is a virtual “group” device. So summarized all windows…
