Have door sensor as zone activity for two zones?

When a sub zone gets active, the main zone gets activated as well. Put the door sensor in the sub zone.

whether I’m able to set a zone to active manually in a flow but that doesn’t seem to be an option?

Install Zone Activity, you can control a virtual sensor to control zone activity

You can achieve the same by creating an advanced virtual device.
