So i’ve got a Fascom V1 video doorbell and a google home. When i tell my google home to stream the doorbell it streams the doorbell video just fine.
Now i want to stream the doorbell stream on my google home when someone rings the door. But i can’t seem to get it to really stream the video. Can’t find many topics about this specific cause. But this is what i’ve tried so far and what it did:
- I can choose some options based on the stream:
rtsp://username:pwd@IP address:RTSP port/videoMainrtsp://username:pwd@IP address:RTSP port/videoSub
These links work when i try to stream them inside a mediaplayer on my pc.
When i use google cast video url with these links set up it gives a google sound and it looks like it tries to start a stream. The google cast icon is showing but it won’t go any further then that.
-
I read somewhere about this link:
http://IP:PORT/videostream.cgi?user=USERNAME&pwd=PASSWORD&resolution=32
But that one only gave a black screen. -
I read somewhere else to first make a card to let google stop casting on that device and then start the cast card. But that one also didn’t make any difference.
-
Download onvif app on Homey. But it doesn’t have a ‘then’ trigger in google cast to cast it’s video signal.
-
I can cast an image from the doorbell camera.
-
I tried the Synology’s survaillance station share stream patht function but rtsp as rtsp to http both give the same results.
-
Tried to create a virtual device (same name app in homey) for a button, light and speaker but altough they show up in Google Home’s devices they aren’t available in Google Home as a trigger in automations.
When i use the cast video, website or youtube cars with these url’s i get either a google cast or homey icon on the google home but that’s it. It doesn’t seem to be loading any video.
I’m out of ideas right now and i hope someone else has an anwser or some advise on this matter ![]()
