So I have google synced and see devices in home app also
as example I say " Hey google play Tiesto on “sonos master” - the answer is I have to also provide the devices name…
but that is the name, also in google home synced and also in the Sonos App (if that has anything to do with it)
same thing with my lg tv named “LG” - does not work…
anyone can help troubleshoot?
can no one help here? Am I the only one with such issues?
Try using different names for those Homey devices, temporarily.
Like, Sonos master > my speaker master
do you know if I have to change it in homey AND in sonos app?
Changed in both sonos and homey, still this happens
OK, so the name isn’t the issue.
If it wants to you to mention the device, did you try that already, like:
“Play tiesto on my speaker master, speaker master”
Which is weird, I know, but I’m curious if it’s possible to actually start a stream this way.
Oh, what crossed my mind:
do you have Homey AND Sonos included at Ghome?
When true, move the Homey “speaker master” to another home.
I named the second home “Don’t use”, and I moved all unnneeded and double devices to that home, to “hide” them.
your idea with the other prompt does not work at all, i get some google web search hits out of it
no I have only homey connected as a 3rd party service in ghome
OK.
Does any other device work as expected with voice cmd? Just to make sure.
What you can try is to create an automation/routine, which is linked to the sonos device.
Like this:
My media devices I can use:
Else,
It ends here for me (no Sonos), you’ll need a Sonos & Google home user to get into the details.
I was just able to send down my sun blinds with a voice command - while google took the exact device, but replied it couldn’t process my command
however they moved
but it makes problems all around with the devices that sync from homey
however I didnt not test a lot yet, everything is very new and I wanted to get speakers running first…
your routines are done in GHome right? I would like to not have a 2nd spot to do “flows” and actually a simple play this on that should work without that anyways or am I wrong?
Yes, that’s a years old “phenomenon”.
In my opinion that can get very complicated.
Most probably you have multiple Ghome compatible devices which “hear” your voice commands. That’s why it asks on which device it should play the playlist.
When I yell “stop playing” it asks on which device. It never succeeded with mentioning the device right away…
Start with lights and switches I’d say
lights work
play tiesto on “Wohnzimmer” (that is a Nest device) works
but ye the sonos na…
where im now only my phone can “hear” me
update from my side @Peter_Kawa : I added my sonos account also to GHome and now it worked
