I haven’t tried to add it again as a RGB-CCT, I only got timeout when adding as that specific device type.
Hi,
I am using Homey pro 2023 with the latest firmware. I have been having this issu since I posted and I have automatic updates turned on. Was the bug you mentioned solved?
I am using the “GLEDOPTO” app in version 1.1.4
I don’t think that in may case the problem is with the range or bad connection. Two two controllers I mentioned are in two completely different parts of the house but I have many powered (as in not battery powered) zigbee nodes between them and Homey.
I noticed that the issues are with all of the newer Gledopto devices that have a reset button. I have 3 other Gledopto controllers without the reset button and they are stable. They never left the network etc.
There are different “latest” firmwares available, v12.1.2 stable and v12.2.0-rc.3 experimental (see changelog)
Is it too much to mention the firmware version? Sometimes it also happens that a new firmware has already been released but will be installed on your Homey 1-2 days later.
I’m not an Athom employee, so I can’t tell you for sure. However, as this information is no longer explicitly mentioned since firmware v11.1.0, there is a possibility that the bug has been fixed.
What have you tried in the meantime to find or solve the problem? Have you contacted Athom support and/or the app developer?
Since the end of April there is a test version of the GLEDOPTO app available, but I assume that this test version will not solve your problem:
Link for the test version in the app store:
So my suggestion is to contact the app developer. Links can also be found in the app store.
Hi! You are right, it was late and I got lazy. I also meant that since I update my Homey regularly and I have had this problem for the past 6+ months, I definitely installed many updates since the last post.
Sorry again, I run 12.1.2 version.
I tried contacting the app developer two times with no reply. I also reached out to them through their website and even through their aliexpress store
I offered that I can test some things for them but again, zero response.
I will install the test version and will give it a go.
I feel that things got a bit better the past year in the way that before, I had issues pairing the controller with Homey. Now that is not a problem. Every time I lose communication with the controller, I go into settings, maintenance and re-pair it. That goes very quickly and I never had any issues with the process. It is just annoying to do it every 1-2 weeks, especially that apart from those 2 controllers, all other gledopto controllers and all other zigbee devices work perfectly fine.
Were you able to solve your problems with your GL-C-002P, @KungWaz?
If so, what was the solution?
I am thinking of buying the same device…
I added it as an RGB mode controller, didn’t bother to get it to work with white colors, only needed the green and red colors in the end for the setup I did.
So now it is added as, “LED Stripe Controller 5in1 (RGB Mode)”. It shows up as Product ID “GL-C-003P”. Haven’t tried changing anything since then.
Ok, thx. Nice to hear that it works. Perhaps I don’t even need the Gledopto app, as I will be using it only with a single color and dimming, which should already be supported as a generic Zigbee device.
@Krzysiek Hi! Do you still have losing communication issue or others with Gledopto controllers with the reset button version? I’m going to buy it, but only versions with a reset button are available.
@Marti I feel like it it a bit better but I still have the same issues. I think that the GL-C-008P is more stable. I am having more issues with the GL-C-008P mini now. I did not check it thoroughly but my perception is that every time Homey is updated or restarted, I lose control over the mini. I then need to use the maintenance option, reset the controller and it works for a while again.
