Hi all,
We’re about to invest in garden lighting for a large garden (~800 m²) and I want to settle one hard requirement before we commit to a system.
Setup
- Homey Pro (2023) on Ethernet, the heart of our home automation
- Planned: in-lite 12V garden lighting with SMART HUB(s) + SMART BRIDGE, linked to Homey via Matter
What I’ve found so far
- Via Matter the SMART BRIDGE shows up in Homey as one device per lighting group, on/off only (source)
- Individual lights, dim levels and in-lite scenes don’t seem to come through to Homey
The must-have scenario
When we get into the jacuzzi, Homey (button, sensor or flow) starts a “Jacuzzi” scene that:
- dims lights at specific spots for privacy, across several zones/groups
- sets each light to its own dim level
- starts certain effects
A second scene (“Garden evening”) turns everything back. Routines/schedules don’t need to be in Homey; the in-lite app can keep doing those. Starting scenes from Homey is the must.
Questions
- Has anyone managed to start in-lite app scenes from Homey (Matter or a workaround)? Or do in-lite SMART lights (dimmable/colour) show up individually in Homey via Matter, so I can rebuild the scene in Homey?
- Does anyone know if in-lite plans to expose scenes or individual lights via Matter?
- If in-lite can’t do this: which outdoor lighting system DOES give you scenes or individual dimming from Homey, at garden scale and with quality fittings? Think Philips Hue Outdoor, Casambi-based fittings, Zigbee/DALI dimmers per group, or other brands (Lightpro, Techmar, …). Real-life experience much appreciated.
We’ll only invest in the base installation if this works, so any experience or advice is very welcome.
Thanks!
Nick
