Hi.
I was thinking of getting the Samsung Galaxy tab A9 to use exclusively for Dashboards.
And I’m wondering if anyone who has this tablet could make a short video of the performance using dashboard on this?
Or at least a description would be nice.
The screen size I think is perfect for my use case. I want to mount it to the wall with a magnet so I can easily grab it and take it with me around the room/house.
Other tablets in the same price range and same screen size can be of interest as well.
I have a Chromebook tablet (Lenovo Duet 5) running the dashboard now, and it is just to slow to be of any practical use. And I don’t want to buy something new that turns out to be useless.
Three columns will be enough for it’s purpose. What’s important to me is that switching between dashboards, and loading widgets work snappy without noticeable delay.
I’m using the A8, and it works perfectly for both Homey and for Dashboards, and im currently using it to run everything from, through Dashboards. Its more than capable, so of you thinking of the A9, its more than enough for your request
Thanks. This is the A9? Someone said that only 3 columns was possible, but clearly you have 4.
I see some loading time on the widgets when you switch between dashboards, but it’s way better than my Chromebook and it looks like it’s mostly the third party widgets that are lagging, and my guess is that this happens on even the fastest, most expensive tablets.
Sorry, A9+ 11" screen. It’s probably snappier with less columns.
Yes it’s a combination of both.
Homey does a lot of the processing, I’m sure the dash is (much more) snappier when I would use a Pro2023.
Also as I mentioned along with the YT vid, my Pro2019 is heavily used, and fully loaded with apps and flows.
The difference in app responsiveness was huge when I once used it with my empty factory resetted Pro2019.
I purchased an A9 just for the homey dashboard since it resides on my cooking island in the kitchen. It has 3 columns and works like a charm. With macro droid is activates the screen as soon as the kitchen zone is active (using a sonoff motion detector) and goes into sleeping mode after 10 mins inactivation. The performance is more than ok. I’m thinking of 3d printing a wall mount
