Find flows where a certain variable is used

in previous homey releases this was not possible, but is there now a way natively or using a script to find all flows where a certain variable is used ?

Not with a built in Homey tool, but it is possible, for a long time actually, with this community app card:

It takes variables as “object type” and it can filter results by var name.

For those who would like to dive into the deep end of the pool, here is a Homeyscript that could be used as a start to build a HomeyScript that finds flows with a certain variable:

vname = "dim-dusk"
fname = "flowwithvar"

////get all Homey variables
const vars = await Homey.logic.getVariables()

////get that variable
for (e of Object.values(vars)){
