Hi there,
I am wondering if anyone has used the Fibaro Smart Implant to power on a computer? I am thinking to add a Fibaro Smart Implant to the power button on a desktop computer, but I am a bit unsure if it is possible at all?
Hi there,

Don’t you have wake on lan?
That is no problem.
FYI a Shelly Plus Uni is a nice alternative (€9,- black friday). Wifi+Ble
Great to hear!
How should I connect the Smart Implant in order for this to work?
Thanks!
I would rather use the Smart Implant since I would like to control it via Homey. But thanks for your suggeston.
I see. Shelly also can be controlled by Homey, otherwise I wouldn’t have mentioned it (in this case).
It"s also possible to use with local network only (cloud connectivity is fully optional).
Just FYI
Ah great, I did not know.
I found it on sale here in Norway as well and it is much cheaper than the smart implant. How would you proceed to connect this to a power button on a computer?
simply connect the two wires of OUT 1 to the pushbutton contacts of your computer.
Provide power to VAC1 and VAC2
Thanks! Very much appreciated
Hi agian,
I am a bit confused as I had a look at the manual for the Shelly unit yesterday.
The power should be connected to the VAC1 and VAC2 if I understand this correctly?
Good that you read the manual better then I did, yes the power should be connected to VAC1 and VAC2 and can be AC or DC, between 9 an 24 Volt as on your picture…
Rem. update This is not the Smart-Implant but the Shelly Plus Uni.
If the computer is connect to the network through a wire LAN connection you can start your computer with WOL (Wake On Lan) without any other hardware
Only if your computer supports WOL.
Alright, I have done som testing and the Shelly does not receive good enough wifi and/or bluetooth signals. I am therefore looking to use a Fibaro smart implant instead as that rely on zwave network which would be much more stable.
Computer does not support the WOL, or it does but it require to put the computer into sleep mode when powering it off.
Do I understand this correctly:
DC voltage to P (red) and GND (blue) then connect power buton to out1 or out2?
That is right,
indeed this is the Smart-Implant, the previous picture was a Shelly-Plus-Uni,
Maybe for the future? Rem: Firmware based on ESPHome
Alrighty, I have now got myself a Fibaro Smart Implant. I am wondering if anyone could put me in the right direction?
Should I use a flow to turn on and off the output or how is the best way of doing this? The out1 or out2 cannot be active more than a couple of seconds since I am using the Implant to switch on a computer through its power button.
Would it be as simple as making this script, turn on and then off again after 2 seconds. I am just worried that it is too quick for it to register and then it will just be in ON position too long making the computer to switch off.
Yes, that should work, well, it’s not a script but a Flow, always handy to use the right names
You are absolutely correct, it is a flow not a script. My bad.
I have connected everything now and it works as it should, thanks for all the help @JPe4619 .
