I’m using a Fibaro Smart Implant connected as a dry contact (NO + COM) to the wall button input on my garage door opener. It works fine, but I would like the relay to behave as a proper momentary switch with a short pulse (around 0.3–0.5 seconds).
In Homey I can only configure:
-
Output mode: Normally Open / Normally Closed
-
Flows with a delay, but the minimum delay is 1 second
I can’t find any option for sub-second auto-off or pulse duration in the device settings.
My questions:
-
Is it possible to configure <1 second auto-off for Smart Implant directly in Homey?
-
Is this dependent on firmware version?
-
Is there a specific Z-Wave parameter that allows setting a 500 ms pulse manually?
-
Or is everyone simply using a 1-second pulse and accepting that garage door controllers don’t really care about the exact duration?
I would prefer not to buy a Fibaro Home Center just to update firmware for a single Smart Implant.
Also, I’m curious how others here have solved garage door control in Homey:
-
Are you using Smart Implant, Shelly, Qubino, or something else?
-
Are you relying on software delay in flows, or hardware auto-off?
-
Are you combining it with magnetic contact sensors for open/closed status?
-
Any best practices for safe and reliable control?
Thanks in advance for any advice ![]()
