Feature request: user-defined electricity cost profiles

Electricity Cost Profiles — proposed first version

Users should be able to create a custom profile with:

  • Fixed or dynamic base electricity prices
  • Provider-specific markups and fees
  • Day-of-week rules
  • Custom time periods, with ability to create multiple tariff slots per day
  • Monthly consumption brackets
  • Choice between marginal tiers and one-rate-for-the-whole-month tiers
  • Taxes, VAT, grid charges, and fixed monthly fees
  • Separate import and export calculations
  • Billing-cycle start date and timezone
  • Effective dates for tariff changes

The profile should power both:

  • Homey Energy cost monitoring and reporting
  • Flow conditions and triggers , such as running appliances when the effective cost is below a chosen threshold

A provider database could remain as an optional shortcut, but custom profiles would be the essential foundation. This avoids incomplete regional coverage and reduces the need to maintain every provider’s tariff structure centrally.

Instead you’d probably be very interested in the Power by the Hour community app. Many of your bullets are covered.

Power by the Hour seems relevant here, especially since it already covers several of the tariff options mentioned. It may be worth comparing its current features with the specific requirements in this proposal.
