Ecobee static/stale temperatures

I have an Ecobee Thermostat, with two supplemental room sensors. In Homey, periodically the sensors, including the actual thermostat will stop refreshing. The Ecobee app can see the proper temperature. Apple HomeKit app can see the correct temperature of these sensors. Other sensors throughout the house like Aqara & Eve can see temperatures fluctuating through the day and night via Homey. This seems to only be happening with the Homey Ecobee app. I’ve replaced the batteries in the remote sensors. Of course this is also happening at the actual thermostat which has constant power.

If I restart the Homey Ecobee app, things seem to get resolved for a day or so. Then, it’s back to being nonresponsive within Homey. This failure can happen any time of the day. It really messes up some of my flows based upon temperatures. I’m in search of a solution. Hopefully someone at Athom will research this and publish a fix for the app, or, some kind soul on these forums will offer a solution. Perhaps a flow that will restart the app automatically. That can be as simple as a daily restart, or as complex as figuring out if I’m getting stale data and restarting at that point.

You can enable the Power User experiment in More→Settings→Experiments. Then, you can create a Flow like this:

When:
Date/Time: Every 1 day

Then:
System: Restart app Ecobee

(I don’t have the Ecobee app so I’ve used another app in this example but it will work with any app)

Also, Athom support doesn’t read along here. You should contact them here:

Thanks so much for this. I’ve only had the Homey Pro 2026 for a few weeks. I didn’t consider myself a power user yet, or anything close. I’ll try this and observe to make sure I no longer get stale data out of Ecobee.
