I know the app just dropped today, and I’m happy to have it. However, I’ve run into a few shortcomings. Some of which, I’ve already used the Suggest feature to ask Dreo to add functionality, but wanted to include it in a separate thread here in case others have hit the same snags, and perhaps resolved them.
- Homekit integration: While adjusting the settings for the AC, I got an error.
2. None of my ceiling fans seem to be available, DR-HCF002S and DR-HCF005S.
3. My space heater DR-HSH017S is not available
4. My portable AC unit, DR-HAC005S has only basic controls; e.g. temperature, on/off. There are two additional modes, sleep and Eco as well as 4 fan speeds that are not available.
Hello
I just bought two fans and when I log in to homey, there are neither available. I just pointed out the problem to them.
I’m a little disappointed for an official app
Me too. No ceiling Fans, no space heaters. Here’s the response I received from Dreo Support.
1.Fans and space heaters are currently unavailable in the Homey-Dreo app because these models are not yet supported for integration with the Homey platform. We will gradually roll out support for them in the future.
2.Regarding air conditioners, only basic and general control functions are currently available in the Homey-Dreo app. If you require full functionality (such as mode switching, fan speed adjustment, etc.), we recommend using the official iOS Dreo app.
Hopefully they will expand on their 1.0 release soon.
The Dreo support team response to the Homekit error above was that they do not support Homekit natively, so, no fix available. I pointed out that a lot of other non-Homekit devices do support this switch so that the device can be ported into Homekit, even with reduced features.
