Dooya Curtain motor - Connectable?

Hi,

Ive read in the forums Dooya or at least certain models can connect to Homey.

I bought a house this week and inherited multiple curtain motors of Dooya and the same amount of wall mounted controllers:

I didnt receive any receits or manuals, so I have no idea:

  • what exact model
  • what its current capabilities are
  • If possible how to connect to homey
  • If not possible if I can buy or replace (for example the contoller?) to connect to preferably zigbee (its the protocol all my lights are on already so seems better than another wifi signal in the house).

Does anybody recognise these?

I have these and control them with the Brel app.

Try this:

Thanks. Im reading up a bit, I think this is the model: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/DOOYA-DT52S-75W-Curtain-Motor-4_1600442802820.html

Bit worrysome, seems like Chinese stuff, can’t really tell if quality is great.

In any case, It says connectiveness is optional (wifi and/or zigbee). Is there a way before I try connecting this where you can check from the hardware out if I have these options on these devices?

Here’s a shortcut.

If the Brel app doesn’t recognise the remote(s), or if the signal range isn’t wide enough:
Install Tuya Smart app.
Pair the devices
If it works, you can use them with Homey by using the Tuya Cloud app.

The problem with that description is that I read something about the p2 option of the remote control, but we have a wall-mounted plate.

The positive thing is that there’s something about Wi-Fi on the back. So I assume this unit needs to be paired. Only I don’t see a pairing option anywhere. Possibly by holding a button or something, but I don’t want to mess around with it and risk breaking the connection between the motor and the plate.

A search returned this

It"s probably Tuya based. Many devices have both RF and wifi control.
When you install the Tuya Smart app on your phone, and you manage to pair it,

you can control it with Homey with the Tuya Cloud app.

Hey this visually even looks like my device. Thing is, when I download the Tuya cloud app or one of the others I see I do not see the option to add like you do: Tuya cloud App for Homey | Homey

Edit: ah wait. YOu mean an app on iphone first. Ill give that a try.

Yeah, Tuya Smart it"s called.

When that went OK,
next, in the Tuya Cloud app, add “Raambekleding” device (Curtain).
If it doesn’t get recognised, you can still operate it by creating tap-to-run scenes @ Tuya Smart app on your phone.
Those scenes can be started with flows!
How to:

So I try to follow the steps from the app to add them. I tried wifi and all others. When pushing the middle button on the plate and holding it down 10 seconds the top button starts to blink. Im guessinv that that is pairing mode. Its just not finding them. My router supports 2.4 so that should be okay.

I saw there are zigbee connectable ones for sale: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005002510471714.html
Maybe buying this gives me a better experience? Just hope it means i dont have to set everything up on the curtains how far they should extend etc. If i go that route. This shouldn’t be this hard :joy:

Im just gonna ho ahead and order one with zigbee capabilities hopkng this aill work with homey pro:

Do you guys think this will work with the dooya motor as a replacement and also be compatible with homey pro when I do not have a hub? I really dont like an additional hun and want to connect to homey.

It’s always a 50% chance with the Tuya Zigbee app (Tuya puts different versions in alike (looking) models, and you can only find out by pairing it with a zigbee controller).

How to request device support:
App topic:

Would there be a different brand that could work with the dooya curtain motors that do offer better functionality with homey pro in your opinion? At this point I just want better stuff and make it work . Would have never gone this aliexpress route if it was up to me in the first place. But now that its all installed like this im kind of locked in I’m afraid.
