There are exceptions, for example most (all?) no-neutral switches/dimmers.
Interview the device, it might help.
Does anyone have an experience with WiFi devices? I’d use the Brdige as an extender to connect a Shelly WiFi device. Would that work with the bridge or I need to get Wifi Range Extenders/Meshes?
That won’t work with the Bridge (also, I don’t really understand the situation, since Bridge itself requires a WiFi connection that would mean that any Shelly devices near it can use the same WiFi network?).
Hi everybody. I noticed today that in Developer Tools it doesn’t show anymore Homey Bridge either as a node or a router (that it should be).
Is there an update by Atom on how exactly HBridge should work as an extender of the zigbee network?
I bought it for that but now, having some TP-Link wifi extender around home I’d like to know if it is still necessary (al least for Zigbee and maybe in the future for some Z-Wave items) or not.
Thank You in advance for any suggestion.
Daniele
It should still be shown as a Zigbee router/extender in the table, so it’s strange that (apparently) it was there before but not anymore.
WiFi extenders do nothing to extend Zigbee/Z-Wave networks.
“WiFi extenders do nothing to extend Zigbee/Z-Wave”
I know that. This is the reason I don’t need to use HBridge as an extender of the HPro wifi network as with Tp Extender I can reach every IoTs.
But if it’s confirmed HBridge acts as an extender of the Zigbee network it’s a good reason to keep using it.
I’ll try to restart HPro and secondary HBridge going to see it on the Zigbee table…
Thanks.
Daniel
When it’s added to the Homey Pro Zigbee network, it will act as a Zigbee router/repeater. But if you bought it just for that, it’s much cheaper to buy (for example) IKEA’s Zigbee repeater or a Zigbee socket, those will do the same.
