Hello i am very new with homeypro, and i think i started with the most difficult thing i can do… the dehumidifier.
Even the guide list of what to shop of homey doesn’t have a list of dehumidifiers only of humidifiers or purification.
I really need one in the house i moved and is already 2 days i still dont have one bought because i cant understand of the one i will buy if it will have more than on/off integration with the app. (I want to be able to change the x% of humidity)
I saw that “bora” and Xiaomi are not well clapped in another post.
I am very interested in midea cube (from the videos that is a high efficiency dehumidifier) and I am afraid i will get an on/off integration only
Pls help, humidity is consuming me every minute I still don’t have a dehumidifier
With an external Homey supported humidity sensor (starting from €15) you can have Homey turning the dehumidifier on and off, based on the desired humidity level.
It’s the thermostat principle.
It’s also possible with a non-smart dehumidifier, by switching the power with Homey. But such a dehumidifier has to be able to start when plugged in without interaction of course.
Another possibility is using a switchbot bot, to have Homey press buttons.
i’m in the same boat. new user, main issue is humidity. we’re having AC installed soon with a very good dehumidify mode. I want to pair that with dehumidifiers to keep it under 60%. i have a dumb dehumidifier (cecotec) that you usually have to press a button to start. But if the humidifier is running , it looses power, and then gets it back , then it will go back to the previous mode. So, i tested with a smart plug (on/off) and it worked perfectly. My plan is to use an Ikea sensor VINDSTYRKA (for temperature, humidty, air quality) , and use an Aqara smart plug connected to a dumb dehumidifier like the one i have and probably will get a new one for upstairs. So the humidity will be handled by the Ikea sensor and that will tell the dehumidifer plug when to stop/start. I haven’t found anything better yet.
So I bought a comfee dehumidifier with Smart Control via midea air app, but instantly migrated to SmartHome App (midea air message about being unsupport and to migrate) the dehumidifier is connected via WiFi, but I still don’t understand how works homey and how I could connect to it.
