I just enabled the niko app and immediately the issues started again, so I guess that is the issue, now have to find out why…
No not for your case;
The interesting data sits in the ‘device’ (did you add the SysInternals ‘device’?)
Cool you managed to isolate the cause.
Like I wrote, most probably certain Niko devices choke the mesh by flooding it with messages. Certain dimmers (other brands) showed similar behaviour.
If it’s not possible to decrease certain poll intervals, or minimum update intervals, I’m afraid you have to report your findings to Niko, and/or if possible, request the app developer to add interval time options to the Homey app device settings.
ah yeah stupid….didn’t realize that I first had to add my homey as a device in the app, wasn’t really clear in the description I guess, now I do see a lot of useful things, thanks
Yeah I already wrote to Niko a few times but mostly received solutions like reset your homey and start from scratch or switch off all power in your house, now I could make all the Niko stuff without power, but starting homey from scratch I’d rather not….
I wrote again today that I can see the issues immediately when enabling the app and that they are gone when disabling and restarting homey, I tried this multiple times now, so hopefully they will have a look, although I’m not sure how long this will take if I’m the only one that has issues, the issue with all but one button not working on their switches has taken a loooong time to be solved (and was detected by coincidence as far as I understood)
It’s a shame that you can’t go back a version, even if it was just for trying if that would still work, cause at this time I’m not sure if it is an update of the Niko app that caused all this, or maybe a homey update that interferes with the Niko app, or maybe it is even something I did wrong, but that would be weird since everything was working until just one day it started doing weird things when I didn’t change anything. Niko even mentioned that a neighbours wifi could create the issues, but I also tried changing channels etc and that also didn’t help.
