Thanks a lot this was realy helpfull! For now I can at least turn my devices on and off. Does anyone know a way to start a starter with dimming an virtual device?

I think no one gets the picture. Can you describe what you want to achieve? What do you mean by start a starter f.i. :wink:

Sorry if I was unclear. If you want to start an automation in Google Home, you need a ā€œstarterā€. I would like to have a virtual device that can start a flow in Google Home by dimming the virtual device. I donā€™t think itā€™s possible, but Iā€™ll still ask the question on this forum. Hopefully thatā€™s clear enough!

Im very close to a working solution bij your method. Just one thing.

In homey, i have a Advanced Virtual Device.
It is in my Google Home devices aswell.

But
The device only trickers when the Google Home app is open on my Phone.

Battery usage for the Google Home app, is set unlimited.

What is going wrong?

I have the exact same issue. It wonā€™t trigger unless the Google home app is reopened. So, itā€™s a bit unfortunate. I donā€™t know a way to get around.

Seems to be that Google isnā€™t updating the status of those devices unless the app is opened
