ChatGPT MCP integration fails

Overnight, things have started working - see screenshots below.

I had to start a new chat though - continuing in the last chat did not work.

First impression: it is not very fast - but definitely with very high potential!

Throwing this in here although it’s not GhatGPT. does anyone know how to get in touch with the homey developers on this?
I’m trying to integrate Homey to an AI agent with MCP and the agent continuously failed. testing in Postman there’s something wrong with how it responds. Chatting with a developer he pointed out that there are different methods of implementing MCP and this might be the reason that homey may or may not have used the standard “MCP-standard”.

Using @modelcontextprotocol/inspector, it seems to work fine for me:

Any messages or input you got there that we can compare?
Postman should work just the same

Not really. I connected to the server (including authentication), then called list_devices (both with and without homeyId, to test), and it just worked :man_shrugging:t3:

Just tested it, and works fine for me

If it works for you all maybe there’s something I’m doing wrong somewhere….
Have you encountered any setting you need to activate? I noticed that when I set up the OAuth it did open the pop up and ask me to select the homey I wanted to use so it obviously did get some info…

I notice my URL is built with language, is it the same for you:
homey.app/en-fi/?utm_source=mcp",

@Lars_Kristian_Haga did you use postman? could you share the message you got?

Works now. First impression: Slow.
Second impression: When chatting at first, I had And have to convince ChatGPT voice assistant to use MCP to access my home. Which it said it did, then made up values and rooms in my house.

Then, via text chat, I reminded it again that it has access via MCP. It was able to change the lighting, but only after confirming this big warning

Wworks like a charm here, didn’t even know I have 220 active devices ! Showed me the whole status of the home.
