I have the Homey self-hosted server running on my Mac. I also installed the (iPad) Homey app. Thusfar this was all working fine. Today I ran into some problems with the Homey app, so I decided to remove the app en re-install it. Removing went fine. However, if I try to install the Homey app, the button in the Appstore says ‘Update’ which is strange because I deleted the app. When I try 'Update, I get an error ‘Cannot download the app’. In the menu of Homey server, the entry for the app is still visible and I can start it. Is there an extra copy of the app somewhere on my Mac? Anyone encountered the same problem?
Have you already reported your issue here?
Sounds like a cache issue. Did you reboot your ipad as well?
You can try to install the app from the online store:
@smarthomesven it’s about the Homey app, not SHS related
Is it about the macOS client or server app? In case the Apple app store fails to download an app with a connection error, then it’s probably a network issue or an issue on Apple’s side.
Thanks all for your replies. It was about the client app. Yesterday I already tried to clear cache, remove cache files on my Mac and some other things. I also rebooted my Mac twice. Alas, nothing helped.
However, I read that the Apple Appstore might ‘reset’ itself overnight. This morning I checked, and yes, I was able to re-install the Homey client on my Mac. So problem solved ![]()
