I’m interested in the Niko zigbee 4 button switch and I was wondering how it operates in practice. How many fucntions can I actually control with this switch as the documentation here seems a bit unclear. It mentions an on switch and an off switch. Now I presume that this particular switch has two on and off switches and that the functions labelled as dimming level changed is also double (one singular direction for each button) when holding down the button. so, with that logic about 8 functions? Or is it just 4? (one Off, one On, one dimming level up and one dimming level down)?
TLDR: Is the Niko 4 button switch capable of controlling 4 or 8 functions?
I don’t see a supported 4 button switch?
But, in case when the functionality would be equal to the 2 button switch, you can figure it out by viewing the flow cards:
It’s the third one in the line-up…. (Battery powered Quadruple switch in your screenshot, so it already is supported, as I said…). And I know I can see those cards. I’m asking because those cards are vague and unclear…
Just by the app description - i can see actually 8 possible actions
4 from the switching (2x on/off-pair)
2x(up+down) - actually long press
And, smells, like the (physical) switch is visible as 2 different (logical) switches - because the evants do NOT have parameter about group(switching pair) number.
But, the text above is composed only by app description, so it may be totally wrong.
I have the single dimmer, and there you get one device with the on-off and a dimmer level slider. The dimming works with long press and short press is on-off.
I also have the simple non-dimmable double switch and then you get 2 devices added in homey per hardware device, each with only on-off behaviour.
So i guess it depends on how the buttons work of that 4 button device.
I checked the manual and they mention the 4 buttons can each do onOff and dimming. So you can expect 4 devices to be added I think.
The 8 devices are only when you would directly pair a button to a zigbee lightbulb, without homey.
