I finally gave up on my Early 2019 and invested in a 2023 and Bridge to extend automation to my garage. I’ve added the Bridge as a device and it was picked up in a second by my 2023 and all steps worked just fine and I got the device listed under Home/garage. But when looking at the settings, the Bridge was not included in satellite mode but just as a “device”. I’ve reseted the Bridge several times but with no luck
Thnx for the reply. I did check the dev tools web and the Bridge is listed as a ZB router but there’s not any options in the Homey app for satellite mode nor the heading “satellite” as i’ve seen in some pictures. It might be doing what it should but a then a bit strange that it’s just listed as a device and not a satellite? Cheers /Fredde
What are your expectations?
When it’s added as satellite (no other options possible when added to a Pro), you can select which device (the Pro or the Bridge) should send the IR / 433MHz / Bluetooth signals.
This option should be added to the device settings for devices of aforementioned 3 protocols, IF the app developer added support for that (I didn’t came up with this puzzle…)
For zigbee/z-wave it’s just acting as your ordinary zigbee/z-wave router (like a zigbee/z-wave light or socket does).
I expected the headline “satellite” and to have the options for extending the protocols with bridge as an antenna… I had the Apps installed that support the satellite mode but didn’t add any devices for 433 and IR yet. When I added a device the headline changed to “satellite”.
