So I got these vent hoses all over the basement going to various rooms providing rooms with heat. I’m trying to figure out if I can automate the opening and closing of these hoses. They have a switch which rotates to open or close the hose, mechanically.
Anybody have any experience with this? I’ve measured 3 different hoses with 3 different diameters(31cm, 28cm and 22cm), so not entirely sure if there are options to add in a piece that has an electrical way of opening/closing? Would much rather prefer a solution for the switch itself, without altering the hoses drastically.
Hoi!
Sorry, no direct answer, but just an idea and direction to check…
There are some kind of “Smart Valve Controllers” on market. May-be use them? Not exactly for hoses, but at least they can mechanically turn “things”. Connecting/adaptering may be something for smart hands, but at least idea…
PS. This was the first from Google - remember, have seen different kinds to.
Thanks for your reply. Seen those before but not sure if the device allows to have an offset since my switch is never ‘straight’. Straight would be half-open in my case. Seems to me these only go from 180 degrees (open) to 90 degrees (closed).
Unfortunately do not have personal experience with them - just have seen on virtual shop shelfes
So, if someone havin’… pls. share Your experiences here
