Hi @Sharkys, did you ever hear back from Aquaro about the Homey integration? I can now also see requests coming in from the Request a Brand platform.

Hi @Doekse , yep, have been in touch with Ram back in March but nothing since then, they are just doing first “on site” deployment in Slovenia and obviously are quite busy - been selected for beta testing, so hopefully will get soon chance to take a look on the device itself and possible integration…

FYI, received the device finally as member of Beta group - testing in progress. So far seems to be really beta but now I have proof that it’s not a scam

I have first Aquaro app MVP running … I just wonder, is there any other beta tester or nobody from Homey community did sign in for ?

I’m still waiting for mine:(

I understood it’s closed Beta yet with focus on closer distance in Europe, because of possible issues that might benefit out of it… which is also my case. I see frequent updates, recently HA integration enabled so everything is moving forward… thanks to this I can also prepare the Honey integration. My personal estimate - 1-2 months for wider shipping… officially it’s less then 1 month, so let’s see, maybe I’m wrong

FYI, the app is ready and test version available (contact me in case of interests), including production version just approved by Athom. I’m waiting currently for new sensor (that will also support OTA updates) with new rubber pads, which shall improve the zero flow detections and which shall be the final production version (:crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers: ) - after I verify the functionality, will be releasing first production/public version.

Currently, it’s very nice combo with Power by the Hour app…

any news on releasing the App ?

Well, the app is available since I made announcement but only in test, as I still did not receive final sensor version, for some reason “beta” testers were put on “2nd” stream not being prioritized over the rest of orders, that were released already month ago….latest info is that it will be “distributed within next two weeks” but I don’t pay attention to those statements anymore as Aquaro team is still dealing with bugs and also productions adjustments required. Luckily I don’t mind as I was able to tune mine “faulty” sensor into something, which still works for me reliable.
Anyway, I have no feedback on what is different on the production version of hub and sensor, so please everyone, test and provide feedback including debug. Yet, without myself having a production sensor version, it will take time to fix bugs.

I will be creating dedicated channel for this app after I will obtain the production version ~1 month is my own expectation.

Thank you very much, I will see if I can set it up later today or tomorrow.

Got my Aquaro today, finally. Install went fine. Now it will be interesting to see what it can do with Homey.

I’ve setup the app to connect to my mqtt (mosquitto) server (with IP) and username/password is set. However I can not see the app logging in to the mqtt service to subscribe to the Aquaro topic.

No login by the app in /vat/log/mosquitto.log on the server, while MQTT Client app’s login is there.

Well, try to restart the Aquaro hub, if you don’t see anything in the logs. Also when I 1st started, I was not using any authentication first, just to see if hub communicates…

Hub is connected to MQTT, I can see the messages coming in from it.

It’s that this app doesn’t login to my MQTT Broker. Not log entry about a new session from my Homey with the homey-aquaro client id.

However, it is updating Sensor RSSI now from the topic, so looks like it is connected.

But no water flow or water meter data so far while I made the dishes.

I’m not sure if I understand. Why not to connect your Aquaro hub to broker running on Homey? Then you shall add it using my apl as new device….

Btw my app at this moment do not support the option to use MQTT outside of Homey during the pairing, yet it can be reconfigured later in the device settings…

So basically :

  • configure HUB to connect to the MQTT running on Homey
  • add Aquaro device
  • reconfigure HUB to connect to the external MQTT server
  • reconfigure Aquaro device to use new MQTT

Well the Mosquitto instance I have had running so much longer that I have had Homey and I don’t want to run two Brokers in the same network, keep it simple.

Already configured bith the Hub and the Aquaro device in Homey to use the Mosquitto instance as the broker.

Events are coming in from the sensor/hub to mosquitto under the Aquaro/sensor-id and Aquaro/hub topics. and the device in Homey is picking up now battery level and Sensor RSSI.

So the flow from the sensor via the hub to mqtt and there to the device in Homey is now working. What is odd, that mosquitto is not writing anything in it’s log about the session created for homey-aquaro.

Now my final problem is with Aquaro itself. So far in the 12 hours it has been installed, it has only published battery and RSSI info to the topic and no values on water consumption. This I will need to pick up with Aquaro themselves.
