Aqara Smoke detector

Hi all,

I recently bought an Aqara Smoke detector (zigbee) and want to connect it to homey.
But I’m unable to do it… yet…

I have tried the Aqara app, but in the app you can only add the xiaomi honeywell version. It will connect but adds it as an generic zigbee device.

I tried the Xiaomi Home app, but there i can only add the device using the xiaomi gateway…

I also have an aqara M2 hub and added the hub to Homey via Matter. That works, but it won’t see my smoke detector. Only the other devices that are connected to the M2 hub.

Anyone else have some other ideas i can try? tnx!

Hi Martijn, Same issue here, tomorrow Wednesday 28-05-2025 i have contact wtih ROBBshop again, they seem to have the right advise , when it will work for me then i let you know.

ok great, tnx for letting me know!

Hi Martijn, this is what ROBBshop sent to me:

“Wij weten helaas dat het niet mogelijk is om de rookmelder direct te koppelen aan de Homey Pro.
Daarnaast zou de rookmelder enkel te koppelen zijn aan de M3 hub en daardoor wellicht door koppel baar naar andere smarthubs, echter zullen hier dan niet alle functies voor beschikbaar zijn.”

English:

"Unfortunately, we know that it is not possible to link the smoke detector directly to the Homey Pro.
In addition, the smoke detector would only be linkable to the M3 hub and therefore perhaps linkable to other smarthubs, however, not all functions will then be available for this.

According to Frient this one “talks” with Homey Pro : https://www.robbshop.nl/frient-rookmelder-intelligent-smoke-alarm-zigbee

Hi, thanks for letting me know.

I also ordered the Xiaomi Honeywell smoke detector (on AliExpress). According to the Aqara app in homey it supports the “Xiaomi Honeywell smoke detector”. I almost looks the same as the Aqara one and i have no idea why the Xiaomi one is supported in the Aqara app and the Aqara one is supported in the Xiaomi Home app (As an bridge). When i get it i will let you know if it works correctly.

Thanks, but I am ordering the Frient Smokedetectors at ROBBshop, as I know now for sure it does “talk” with Homey  and ROBBshop has very good service
