Aqara roller shade driver E1 with Google Assistant (Google Home)

Hi,
I have two Aqara roller shade driver E1 conencted to my Homey working perfect in Homey app.
However, when I try to command them by voice with Google Assistant (Google Home) they cannot answer to the commands.
More, I can see them in Google Home (even on Google Nest displays) but the commands (manually) are not working either.
Any idea?

Hello,
I have 4 of those E1 and i got them working with Google Assistent.
What i did was the following

  1. Make flows in Homey that does what you want (open/close/percentage)
  2. Add these flows to the favarites (very important, than the will be available in Google)
  3. In the Google Assistent create a voice command (Automation). There you enter the voice command and then choose your action. There you should find the flows you created in Homey)

Thats it.

Henk

Thank you Henk, definitely I’ll give a try.

It’s kinda “tweak”… I was expecting to work like all the other devices (direct command).
And the strangest thing for me was to not be able to execute the commands on Google Hub screen… even if the E1 is seen as BLINDS (with open and close commands).

Cheers.

Check if the Internet connection is good - Slow or Unreliable network can be a reason.
Check to make sure that the Hey Google and Voice Match is enabled (if you are using android phone ) .
Incase , It is an iPhone - Try installing Google assistant app and enable it , pair your aqara . I have my Aqara connected to Google Home app , enabled Google voice assistant and it works well as i have my Hub connected - maybe the Hub is an issue ? Do you have a Google Hub or Aqara Hub ?

The internet connection or the GA settings has nothing to do with the direct command to the device.
It was confirmed by Athom to be caused by a limited support for window coverings in the communication between Homey and Google Home.
The solution was to create a virtual device such as a lamp with dimming capacity, which Google Home does recognize, and create a flow that the Roller Shutter follows the dimming percentages of this device.
So @Henk_Bartels , maybe you’ll be inspired by this
