Aqara not able to connect to Homey Bridge

Hi! I am quite new to the whole Homey Ecosystem, but I can’t seem to find a solution online…
Whenever I try to add the Aqara App to my Homey Bridge I get a message saying; App is not compatible with Homey v12.2.0, requires; .=12.3.0. (see the attachment)

I can’t wrap my head around it, I looked up how to update my bridge and stuff like that but I can’t find an answer…

Does someone have a solution?

Yes. I do.

I released the Aqara app update with the requirement that the app is compatible with Homey SW version >=12.3.0, which is linked to adding a new feature that is dependent on this SW version.

Homey SW version 12.3.0 was release to stable for both the Homey Pro versions (2019 and 2023).

Can you check if there is a SW update available to install on the Homey Bridge?
In the Homey app, press “more” (right bottom side), go to “settings”, go to “updates”.

If the update to v12.3.0 is available, installing that update will resolve the issue.
If not, I will need to check with Athom how to resolve (already ongoing).

Hi Ted,

Just bought an Aqara device and i am stuck on the same issue. Was actually on may way to return it when i found this thread.

There is in no way to update the bridge through settings as you suggested (the option do not show up). It is however possible to go to Devices → Homey Bridge → Advanced settings and find that the firmware is on version 86 if that helps?

Can you roll back while this is being looked into?

I am exactly in the same situation. I feel stupid looking through my settings and not finding the update screen as everybody online is suggesting to look at. Please let me know if you have figured something out. I will do that as well

@Joey_S It seems like the issue is present even when trying to add the Aqara app to Homey with the web app (without the Homey Bridge). I think the problem is that the app is doing a check for Homey SW version 12.3.0; but it is not the same versioning used by by Homey Cloud where the app is ran when using the bridge. I have tried to get and older version of the Aqara app installed, but could not find a way. Will let you know if i manage, or else i guess we will have to wait for the devs…

Just to inform you and Homey cloud users:

I just checked, there’s no fw version mentioned, and it has no update menu / button of some kind.
Firmware seems to be completely managed by Athom.

I have a few Aqara devices that I’m trying to connect to the Homey Bridge but when trying to install the Aqara-app I get “App is not compatible with Homey v12.2.0, requires: >=12.3.0.”.

I see there are comments that you could force download of newer versions from Settings etc. but there are no options in my Homey Bridge (I assume there would be for the Homey Pro?.)

I’m using the Homey Cloud Premium, so will there be an update to 12.3 soon? Now I’m running with limited functionality as devices are of type “Unknown ZigBee” so would be nice to have the Aqara app installed.

Please report to homey.app/support.
When apps start needing newer firmware than available @ Homey cloud/Premium, something goes very wrong.

I will release an update for the Aqara app reverting the (version) compatibility requirement this evening, which should resolve the issues on the Homey Bridge

Version 1.12.2 of the Aqara app has been submitted to the app store, removing the compatibility requirement which should resolve the reported issue.

Waiting for Athom’s approval to release it.
Available in the app store.
