I’m trying to use the motion triggers of the Aqara cameras to trigger other ‘in homey’ devices, specifically to turn on some lights.
I can’t figure out anyway of exposing the motion capabilities of these cameras to Homey, I appreciate Homey can’t do anything with the video footage (still) but was hoping i could at least use the sensors in them if not the video feed.
I run an odd-ish setup, largely to placate the non techy family. Essentially i use Homey to add all my devices to directly and then push devices that need it to Apple Home (for the families benefit + I don’t rate the alternative in Homey yet - not least because video isn’t supported).
Anyway to actually do what i need with the cameras, obviosuly i want to use them still and I don’t want to setup automations anywhere else other than Homey.
I could setup a trigger in Apple Home to sort this out but am trying to persevere and keep it all in Homey as the automation side of things is much better.
Any ideas guys?

Use signals sync under Connect to Ecosystems and Matter. I use it to automatically turn on outdoor lights when movement is detected. Works like a charm.

Feel I may be missing something, I’ve setup the signals sync for motion on my cameras, how do I then see this in Homey? Guessing add via Matter but where do i get the code?
Figured it out, had to add the Aqara hub to Homey to get all the signal syncs i’d setup
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

@Tim_Marshall how could you add the Aqara hub to homey? I try to do exactly what you did but i cant figure it out. I want to use “person detected” to turn on the light. I cant add the govee light to aqara, anymore. I tried to add it with Matter to the Aqara but i cant getting it running.
Can’t 100% remember but somewhere in the Aqara app settings for the hub there is somewhere to get the matter code for it which you can then add as a matter device.
ah, yes, i found it
Thanks!
Yeah its a bit buried in the menu’s like a lot of Aqara stuff.
