Hi,
Do you know what the limit is and what happens once the limit is tripped. Do you get “quarantined”, thrown out or something else?
I thought my problems had been remedied but I’m back to “daily repairs”. My cameras are quite “busy” so can imagine I’m tripping the limit but it would be good to know where the limit is in order to be able to mitigate my problems.
These limits are for cloud connected devices, camera streams are working locally and are not tied to this rate limit.
About that rate limit, its unknown when its happens. But is in on integration level not like normal on user account level. That means that is someone is really busy you cannot connect to the API too. So that is why we Integrated those boundaries in the integration.
OK, understood. But how does this effect event/alarm triggers?
I’m not worried about the streams and I don’t use them in dashboards.
I want to be able to rely on motion events(alarms) from the cameras for turning on lights, sending push messages etc. Are these events propagated “through the cloud” or the local network, i.e. how are events communicated from the camera to my Homey.
As it is now, my camera event might work flawlessly for a few days and all of a sudden they are no longer being received. In the Tapo app they always works, so it’s not a matter of events not being generated. “Repairing” the device in the Homey app always fixes the issue.
I’m having problems getting my cameras to connect fully…
I’m using the self hosted server (in docker), Currently trying the beta (13.2.0-rc.2) having already been on the stable (without success).
The cameras are all wireless & powered, they are a mixture of C210 (v1 & v2) and C320ws (v1 & v2).
The Tapo app only finds about half of my cameras (6). They add in OK and when I access them directly from the Devices tab they briefly flash “something went wrong” and then finally load a live image which can take up to 10 seconds (VLC with the same camera loads instantly).
When added to a dashboard , they add in OK, however when I try to view them through the dashboard, I get the error message “WebRTC offer failed: Not Found: 404 page not found”. If I press the play button I sometimes get a live picture.
Finally When I view the same camera on a PC I get no image at all and just the error message “Camera is Unavailable”
Neither the OnVif app nor Virtual IP app works any better with pretty much the same issues.
I also use the cameras with Frigate NVR, which works flawlessly.
I’m pretty new to Homey and feel that I’m missing something obvious as nobody seems to be having the same issue.. Can any one shed any light on how to get them working correctly?
Thanks
That’s an issue with Homey itself, you can see the 404 page not found. You should contact Athom:
Thank you for your reply, my mistake..
I will repost in the Homey self hosted forum
A quick edit/update for anyone else having this issue even though it’s not a Tapo app error.
Just before I was about to repost in the self hosted server forum I searched for Go2RTC and found a post saying to update to the latest version. So I bashed into the docker image and checked the Go2RTC version number, which was v1.9.13. I updated it to v1.9.14. Restarted the server and clients and and both Android & PC works now. I assume this will be updated in the next release.
Thanks to smarthomesven for pointing me in the right direction…
