That makes sense, though I have also spotted issues with one of my other Shelly devices: Shelly 1PM Gen3 + Shelly Plus Add-On + 5x DS18B20 temp sensors.
Homey does not update the read outs of the latter two sensors (4 and 5, or in Shelly’s web interface that starts counting at zero, 3 and 4). I can see in the device’s own web interface that the values of those sensors have changed, so it seems they are not communicating to Homey. If I restart the Shelly app on Homey then those values are updated after a while, but then get stuck again.
If I am correct Gen3 devices have not yet been added to your new Shelly app. So for now I am thinking if the better option is to revert back to the prior firmware version (1.7.5 and 1.7.99) on my Shelly devices. Not sure whether that is possible.
Firmware 2.0.0 is indeed a major release, so migrating to the new app will most probably be the solution there as well. Please make sure to email us so that we can note your request for the 1PM Gen3 in our ticket system. While we currently have priority on devices that are not yet supported, we will be adding the older Gen2 and Gen3 devices as well, and we will base their priority on their populairity.
Regarding the downgrade: I believe that should be possible if you have the firmware file. We do not have those available, so you will have to contact Shelly support for that.
I migrated one of the Power Strips 4 Gen4 to the new Shelly Control app: the issue of the device not or partially responding to switch commands in parallel has been resolved using that app. So that looks promising .
I also noted that you added more capabilities/sensors and also made available some of the settings, that were previously only available through the Shelly webinterface (like LED color and default state after a power loss), to the Advanced Settings in the device tile .
I have sent you a request via e-mail (#51) to add several Gen3 and Gen 2 models, including the 1PM Gen3, which is causing issues in combination with the old app after the new Shelly 2.0.0. firmware was installed.
Great news! Athom has just approved the Shelly Control app for general publication, meaning that it can be found by everyone in the store (pending the search index update coming night).
That also means that we are nearing the official 1.0 release (which will still not have all devices), after which breaking changes should no longer occur. Let us know if you have some final feedback that would need to be resolved before the 1.0 release!
What about Homey Cloud though? The older version supports Shelly cloud devices, but this new Shelly Control app does not.
And will the cloud connection also be available for Homey Pro? I’m looking to buy some Shelly smart plugs but I want them to use the cloud for connectivity.
Just for clarification I currently run the old shelly app so if I want to switch to the new app I will have to re add all my shelly devises before I can remove the old app. the reason for removing the old app is memory and storage is get a little tight on my Homey Pro 2023
When is support for the shelly blu rc button 4 zb going to be added as when you pair it with the old app as a Bluetooth device it show as a single button shelly, if you press any of the buttons they don’t register as an event in homey but I can see the events in the shelly app on my phone
@smarthomesven Shelly Cloud will be added in a later version as well (probably v2, timeline isn’t fixed yet), although you should always prefer to use local connectivity. That is also why cloud devices aren’t available on Homey Pro with the old app. A final decision on cloud support with Homey Pro in the new app hasn’t been made yet.
@eddiebullman BLU RC Button 4 ZB support (both BLE and Zigbee) has been implemented for this new app, but currently pending on the icon artist. When he is ready, it will be added to the app. Regarding the missed events: Homey BLE is known to be limited, we recommend the use of another Shelly device as BLE proxy.
Yes, you have to re-pair them and update your flows.
You might want to consider using these two apps that help in converting your current Shelly flowcards and tags in your flows to the new ones based on the re-paired devices.
Flow Converter - Use this app to replace the old device IDs with the new ones (flow cards and tags are linked to a device I)D. Depending on the Shelly model, this will allow you to either fully or partly convert your flows. Before you remove your Shelly devices from the Shelly app, take note of their IDs in the Device section of the Homey Developer Tools. You’ll need to old IDs as input for the conversion. Note that if you have a Shelly device that is currently represented as one device in Homey, but after the move to the Shelly Control app as two devices (e.g. a Shelly 1PM + a Shelly Plus Add-On sensor module) you might be better of converting those flows manually.
Flow Checker - Use this app to identify broken flows. So flows that still refer to a flowcard or tag based on the original Shelly app.
Hi Drenso - has the icon artist done his stuff and is the BLU RC Button 4 ZB (both BLE and Zigbee) now fully supported and available please - thank you
Thanks - yes Bob from Dev contacted me this afternoon and I am running on the test version - looks good so far.
Issue I am wrestling with is that the Shelly remote and Homey v0.15 integration both support Long Press and I’d like to use that to cycle Hue lights up and down but can’t find a Hue card, Hue’s remote does have access to dimming.
