I have the same issue and managed to make my flows working again, using a quite simple workaround i already used before to have notifications according to the Ring’s window sensor. It is hardest than by the Ring’s app but not so.
The workaround is like this :
create a virtual Switch on your homey (unfortunately it does’nt works with virtual buttons)
install the homey skill on your alexa app (if not already did)
alexa should detect your virtual homey switch (if not go to add a device, choos “other”, choose “You don’t find the corresponding logo”, choose “the device should be configured into the manufacturer app”)
create a Routine into alexa, to switch on/off your virtual device according to the events of your ring devices (doorbell, camera, sensors, etc.)
catch the status changes of your virtual switch to trigger your homey’s flow
It can seems to be complicated but it works and, in fact, it’s works even better than when triggers were working on the Ring app.
Ohhh… thanks a lot. But everything works for me today…
Im using the community app, and had this and the officials ring app it set up in a flow. Suddenly I got responses from the community app, and then reinstated the flow using this one.
Ring has never supported 3rd party integrations, the fact is Ring made a change to their API which in fact was forced by Firebase (part of Google) deprecating a legacy FCM Push messages system.
The Athom Ring app and my Ring Doorbell and Camera app have been adapted to his change but it seems Ring is still in the process of moving users to the new API.
Yes, that seems to be the case. While the adaption of the app to the new API has fixed the issue for users experiencing the problem with the old apps, some users started to experience problems after receiving the new app. Over time it started to work again for them, out of the blue.
No. I’ve contacted Ring with the request to move me to the new API and they didn’t even react to that or acknowledge there even are 2 API’s. In my case it still doesn’t work. Very annoying. It also doesn’t work in homekit so it is not only a homey issue
