Introducing Wasp in a Box - a Homey app that creates virtual occupancy sensors by combining multiple physical sensors into intelligent presence detection systems.

What is “Wasp in a Box”?
Like a wasp trapped in a container that stays active until it finds an exit, this app creates virtual occupancy sensors that activate on motion detection and only reset when specific “exit” conditions are met (like opening a door). This provides more reliable presence detection than individual motion sensors, which may timeout prematurely in rooms where people remain still for extended periods.
Key Features
- Virtual Occupancy Sensors: Aggregate multiple physical sensors into one intelligent occupancy indicator
- Flexible Sensor Configuration:
- Trigger sensors (motion/presence) activate occupancy
- Reset sensors (door/window contacts) deactivate occupancy
- Configurable Timers:
- T_ENTER timer (5-60s) for entry/exit detection windows
- T_CLEAR timer (60-3600s) for auto-vacate timeout
- Real-Time Monitoring: Event-driven using capability listeners for instant response
- Manual Control: Pause device and set occupancy states via action cards
- Flow Integration: Full support for Homey flows with When, And, and Then cards
