Is there anyone with an EV using this app and receiving GPS and range values in the JSON. It has been more than a week now aince the app install and I am still not receiving these values.

Thanks for sharing your data! I’ve analyzed your vehicle’s dataset.
What the data shows:
- Battery:
battery_state_report.soc = 79%— this value is correctly read by the app and should appear as 79% in Homey. - The vehicle was actively charging at 10.1 kW with about 60 seconds of charge time remaining.
Why the value isn’t updating: The VW portal doesn’t generate a new dataset after every small charge increment — it typically publishes new data when charging completes or when the car sends a status update. The app checks regularly for a new dataset and applies the updated value immediately when one appears. However, it can only show what the portal delivers.
Fix in v0.0.35 (just released): A bug in stale-data detection for the VW format was fixed — timestamps from car_captured_utc_timestamp entries are now correctly recognized. This improves reliability of update detection.
Recommendation: In the app settings, check the Debug Data tab to confirm your vehicle is listed, and look at the App Logs tab to see when the last dataset was downloaded. If no new dataset has appeared for hours, that’s a portal-side limitation — unfortunately the app can’t do anything about that.

sorry for not being very clear. The soc is indeed displayed in that place but it would be nice if it is in the mentioned section so you can see when the soc was updated.

The last_updated capability already on the device card shows exactly when the app last received fresh data from the VW portal — which is the same moment the SOC value was updated (they come from the same dataset).

Exactly! Every time the VW portal publishes a new dataset, the app downloads it and applies all values from that dataset — regardless of whether they changed since the last update.
The only exception is the “data merging” logic: if a value is missing from the new dataset (e.g. mileage sometimes disappears from charging-only datasets), the app keeps the last known value instead of clearing it.
So in short: new dataset from the portal → all present values get updated in Homey, including SOC.
What is the difference between soc and hv.value?
In my log I see: “battery_state_report.soc = 54” and “battery_level_HV.value = 52.0”
In my Skoda iPhone App, I actually see 52% as the value for the remaining battery percentage.

thanks for sending the JSON. The data looks good — especially the SoC values, which were inconsistent in some of the earlier files from other users.
If the SoC data doesn’t fully match the values shown in the car, the issue is related to the EU Data Act portal.
Based on your JSON, the upcoming version will include a few additional fields (for devices that support them):
- window_heating_state
- battery_state_report.charge_bulk_threshold
- battery_state_report.remaining_charging_time_bulk
