[APP][Pro] Virtual Devices - Virtual Devices to simulate 1 or more real devices

Why did you post a diagnostic report, Mats? Usually this is on developer’s request, when extra logs are needed, thx.

Looks like changing the initial name to another name breaks some functionality as I wrote in my attachment to the report

Is it always button1 that is linked to the main icon on/off status or can I set this to another button or disable the on/off from the main icon somewhere?

From what I know, button1 is a special button, and indeed the only one which can turn the the tile/device on/off

You are on the forum page for Virtual Devices.

Could it be that you are using Advanced Virtual Devices from the Device Capabilities app?

Sharp.

Sorry, my bad, been a lot back and forth of different pages. =/

I created a virtual speaker device using the Virtual Devices app. I can change all the virtual sensor values with flow cards. Is there a way to set the album art for such a device?

Hi !

I just added a Virtuela Device with “Gasmeter m3” property/sensor to my Homey Pro and a flow to update the sensor vaule every 3 muntes from my district heating Total value (GJ)*32.68 m3/GJ.

But its not picked up recognised/ usable in the Energy Tab of The homey pro app. Please help/explain/fix.

Thank You.

Can You add a real/complete Gas(meter)/valve as a (device) category ? And if so also ad more sensor values of Total Consumption, Dayly consumption and hourly consumption That would be really nice.

(I could Imagine that a virtaul water-(m3 or liters), energy(GJ) & elektricitymeter (W & KWh) will come really useful. Don’t you think also ?

@Rmb : Thank you very much !

(for the link : Support Eva smart whole-household energy meter - #4 by user3951 ).

It seems to work with the Advanced Virtual Device as sensor Gasmeter.

From this real district heating measuring device(Warmtelink) from smartgateways (app & manufacturer) :

With some flows doing the calculations (GJ value *32.68 m3/GJ here in NL/Vattenfall) and calculating and updating the (advanced Virtual device ) gas sensor values every 150 seconds to this :

And finally I have this in the Energy Tab although I have district heating in GJ and not a real gas supply at all/usage with m3 :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

The price for 1 GJ is currently at Vattenfall NL (district heating) 40,97 € . So the gasprice per 1 m3 is around 1,254 € (=40,97€/GJ / 32,68GJ/m3 = 1.25€ / m3. That has to be configured in the settings of the Homey energy tab) incl VAT excluding basic infrastructure costs 827,90€ yearly

so thank you. :folded_hands:t2: :folded_hands:t2::folded_hands:t2::folded_hands:t2:

Hello, I have been using this app for several years, but I now want to add an EV charger to use in the Homey Energy tab. I am currently reading the EV charger data via a Homey script, and I would like to add it to the Energy tab this way. However, when I create a new device using the “EV-Charger” or “Car” template, it does not appear in the Energy tab. How can I resolve this, or is this something that needs to be fixed within the app?

Yeah the app needs some fixing.

However, when you fill energy in a energy device, it might take some time before it is shown in the energy tab.

Thnx for the reply! I hope you can find some time to fix the app :innocent:

The virtual device is working in the overview of most used devices. But the garage door stays closed.

Trying to get this to work for de Kamst IR Gateway as well but can’t seem to find the correct setup to include it in the Energy tab. The Kamst Gateway incorrectly also reports kWh for the device so can’t include it directly in the energy tab.

Could you please share a screenshot with the settings for the virtual device?

Something doesn’t work as I expected …
I have a virtual device (called over_2hrs_absent) which is in Off-state
When I flow puts it a 2nd time in Off-state, I assume it doesn’t change state.
When I test it with a trigger card for a Mode change, it sees this as a change. (while in fact the mode was off, and stays off)
of course this sets things into action, that shouldn’t …
What is wrong with my thinking?

Just test if the modus is on before you set it to off.

Thanks @Rmb , and clear as a work around.
But Mode change does trigger, while actually it didn’t change. Is that it is supposed to work? :-o

I have both of the smartgateway devices for my vattenfall stadsverwarming (zone heating) : the “warmtelink” en since december last year also your Kamst IR.

My —> “Advanced” ← virtual device (by the homey app “device capabilities”) is still using the values of the warmtelink because I’ve set/configured it before I got the Kamst IR. But the same advanced virtual device could also now just use the KamstIR values.

Because your Kamst IR is reporting the kWh I had the same issue not beeing able to use your kamst IR directly as gasmeter m3 but still use this seperatly virtual gasmeter m3. Maybe smartgateways should add an option to hide / not disclose the kWH value that is automatically or has to be set manually in the case the "factor to convert to gas m3 value is not set to zero (0).

The other way around they maybe could achieve that : is maybe the kWh value set/configured/ear marked as a total energy meter sensor value and and you just could deprecate it to a normal value in the home software ?

See my setup of the virtual device gasmeter at the field toon als :

So I use these values from my warmtelink :

But You could use the similar values from your KamstIR (all 3 value are there too : “Stadswarmte”, “Stadswarmte per uur” en “stadswarmte vandaag”:

Do you also have Vattefall as heting provider because this conversion number/vaule (*32.68) is specifict for vattenfall (Netherlands(/Almere)) othe companies/providers and reagions might use a slighly diffrent conversion number/value ( how much m3 per GJ).
