Yes. I think so
For that option, you need to create an Advanced Virtual Device from the Device Capabilities app.
There you can configure cumulative.
(Better use the testversion i published today)
Works for solar, testing the other devices classes when I have time ![]()
Hi All,
About one day ago, all my virtual devices stopped working. Upon checking my Homey app, virtual device app was gone. Check in the back the timeline, I saw this FlowChecker - Event: BROKEN_VARIABLE - Flow: Exhaust Fan - Advanced Flow | Folder: unknown | Reason: Device variable and other related devices also showing this Folder: unknown | Reason: Device variable
There isnāt any Homey firmware update happen during that time nor any application changes.
Rebooted my HP23 still not working, virtual device app still missing ![]()
I tried reinstall the Virtual device app once but the apps still not appearing, tried 2nd attempt installation and waited very long time before everything get back to normal again. ![]()
Wonder what happened ? ![]()
Do you, by any chance, have your Homey connected via WiFi to a mesh WiFi network (with multiple access points)? And, Homey has no fixed/reserved IP address? And or have you enabled IPv6 on your home network?
These elements were causing issues for some people: apps suddenly disappearing, not installing of being not available while installed.
Assigning Homey a fixed IP address (or reserving in dedicated one in your routerās DHCP server), binding Homey to a specific access point and disabling IPv6, seemed to help.
Well, i made an update to the VD app.
But nothing that could cause what you report.
There are 2 other people reporting the same thing as you though.
Seems to be an App Store issue as far as i can tell.
True, the disappearing apps issue (should be fixed btw) were an ipv6 related bug.
And restarting all network devices (router/ modem AND access points) helps, and update your Homey firmware.
Hi Thank for coming back, I tot I am alone having this issue. ![]()
My HP23 was on static ipv4 but I didnāt set static for ipv6, maybe I should block it totally? whereas firmware was already on 12.4.7 way before when the Virtual Device app disappeared 2days ago. My router do have ipv6 wan address too, not sure how it is impacting the homey ![]()
No clue why, or how ipv6 could cause these issues, I recommend to inform with support about this answer:
This may be difficult, but I can ask.
I am looking for a virtual alarm control panel. Is it possible that this will become an option in the future? I then look for a panel that can turn the alarm on and off with a numerical code
Hi,
thanks for the cool app. It works great so far. Ive only got one tiny question. Is there a way to edit created devices? I dont find any option ![]()
Thank you for your help.
No not really. If you want to be able to customize more, take a look at the Advanced Virtual Devices from the Device Capabilities app.
Thanks for the fast reply. I like the āvirtual devices appā because its a little bit easier to use it than the big brother - netherless ill give the Device Capabilities app a new try ![]()
Iām looking for a list of all the predefined enum variables that are used for some capabilties.
e.g. for the battery virtual device I use there are many capabilities available of which some use enum variables. I accidently found for the āoperational_stateā that running is one of them.
Is there a list somewhere?
I think you might better have look at the Advanced Virtual Devices from the Device Capabilities app for way more custom options for enums.
Too see which lists are available for VDās, goto
Tutorial: Device Capabilities - Homey Apps SDK v3
and search for picker.
N.b. Please note you need a certain firmware version for some new pickers.
Hi,
Is it possible to change the anemometer value, currently in degrees, to put it in cardinal point? Or add cardinal point in the card?
Thanks ![]()
Please see the Advanced Virtual Devices from the Device Capabilities app to fully customise the Device.
Iām sure Arie can do this with one BLL expression, but hereās my way to create cardinal points from degrees;
just add a text field to an Advanced virtual device, and feed it via flow cards:
Is it possible to add following capabilities under Car. Odometer, longitude and latitude?
