Appstore stable version: Power by the Hour | Homey Appstore test version: https://homey.app/a/com.gruijter.powerhour/test IMPORTANT NOTICE EVERYBODY THAT IS USING THE TEST APP UPDATES The V9 is expected to come out soon as test. This will contain many big changes and will likely contain some breaking bugs. If you do not want V9 to be installed on your Homey while it is still in test phase, you need to go to the stable version update stream now. You can do that by re-installing the stable version (8.21.1) from the app store: [image] Power by the Hour | Homey Summarize the energy/water usage or (solar) production per hour, day, month and year. Use dynamic tariffs. You will not lose any information, flows or settings by installing the stable version over the previous test version. Power by the Hour Power by the Hour (PBTH) turns Homey into a complete Home Energy Management System. Track power, gas, and water usage, forecast solar yield, optimize home battery storage, and automate appliances using dynamic European Day-Ahead energy spot prices. Add Power Summarizer: Add a Power Summarizer device and select your P1 Smart Meter or main energy meter as the source. Connect Tariff Broadcast: Set Tariff Update Group to 1 in the Power Summarizer settings. Your Power Summarizer now updates its electricity tariff automatically every hour based on official market spot prices! :light_bulb: Shared Core Concepts To avoid repeating configuration steps across guides, key shared mechanisms are explained here: 1. Tariff Update Groups Tariff Update Groups link pricing providers (dap, dap15, dapg) to consumer summarizer devices (power, gas). Assign a group number (e.g. 1) to both the pricing device and the summarizer device. Whenever prices update or time slots change, the pricing device automatically broadcasts updated tariffs to all summarizers in that group. 2. Annual Budget Distribution Models PBTH compares real-time usage against annual reference targets using seasonal distribution models: Linear: Equal allocation for each month (30.4 days/month). Dutch 2023 Price Ceiling (el_nl_2023 / gas_nl_2023): Weighted according to seasonal heating and household consumption profiles. Solar PV: Weighted according to typical European solar irradiance curves. 3. Virtual Meter Setup For source devices with non-standard capability names or split tariffs: Select VIRTUAL_METER during driver pairing. Push cumulative meter readings via a Flow using the action Update Virtual Meter Value. Pass total net cumulative energy: $\text{kWh}{\text{total}} = (\text{consumed}{\text{high}} + \text{consumed}{\text{low}}) - (\text{returned}{\text{high}} + \text{returned}_{\text{low}})$. :satellite_antenna: Market Data Providers PBTH integrates data directly from official European energy market exchanges: Electricity Spot Prices: ENTSO-E Transparency Platform & Nordpool Gas Spot Prices: EEX (European Energy Exchange) & EasyEnergy AI Price Forecasting: Stekker.ai :man_technologist: Developer API Other Homey apps and HomeyScript can query prices or listen for real-time slot pushes via the PBTH Inter-App API: GET /dap-prices — fetch all current future price slots. Realtime event dap-prices-updated — emitted on slot changes and price updates. See README.dap-api.md for full API reference and code examples. Donate & Support If Power by the Hour helps you save energy and money, consider supporting development: [Donate with PayPal]

After a journey with several advanced flows (to control my home battery in relation to my solar panels and my car charger) I have started to use this PbtH app. I got it working. I stop charging and discharging the battery when the available power is less than 200 Watt. Per battery! I have two of them (Sessy). I notice that when the demand to deliver from the battery is less than 400 Watt they stop. It looks like that the setting in the PbtH flowcard (minimum accu power) is multiplied by the number of batteries. I use 200 Watt as setting but it behaves like it was set to 400 Watt. I expected that only one Sessy is being addressed to deliver the power from 200 Watt up to 400 Watt and that the app switches between the 2 batteries (to keep them more or less on the same level). @Gruijter, Is my observation correct? EDIT: Yesterday evening I watched the behaviour of discharging the batteries again. To my surprise it now works exactly as I expected. From 200 to 400 Watt only one battery is delivering the power and they switch alternately. Above 400 Watt both deliver an equal amount of power. I didn’t change anything… . Nice…, so there is no issue here. Lessons learned :innocent:

Every day at 13:00, when the power price for the next day is set, the price for the current day is messed up. My flows don’t work. Price now is wrong, lowest/highest price this day and more, all are gone. The screenshot shows average price this day, every day at 13:00 it drops. It is correct again one hour later, at 14:00. Except yesterday when it reverts to normal at 17:00. I have noticed that other also have seen this problem What could cause this? [image] Edit: the values are changed correctly at 13:00 Two minutes later (13:02), the current “price now” is changed to a wrong value. Average price goes to ZERO. Something is wrong here. @Gruijter ? [bilde]

@Gruijter Here is what’s happening. Period from 12:00 to 13:00 Price now is the same as Tibber, 0,4517 NOK. Period from 13:00 to 14:00 At 13:00, PBTH change to 0,3913 which is also the same as Tibber, correct so far. However, 2 minutes later, PBTH change “price now” to 0,4697, which is WRONG. Also average price today (now set to ZERO) is wrong, and lowest/highest price today is blank. Any clue? Thanks! [PBTH]

I have the exact same problem. It’s been like this for a few days.

Wanted to download this app for a few days now, but i can’t install it on my Homey. It will be a new install. Tried it via web, via the app. Both say ‘will be downloaded on your Homey shortly’, but it actually won’t. Tried restarting my Homey and do it all over, won’t work.

This is not app related. However, there was a bug wich prevented apps from installing. [image] Cannot add new apps to Homey suddenly Questions & Help Problem solved. Thx to Athom support. I don’t know why, but as my explanation for this problem - that they’re testing IPV6 on device firmware. Answer on my ticket: “This issue seems to be caused by your internet modem issuing IPv6 addresses. Could you please disable IPv6 in your internet router? Please also send us a screenshot from https://test-ipv6.com/ If possible, could you reboot your internet modem once? Then please reboot your Homey Pro once, try to install an app and then send a di… [image]Cannot add new apps to Homey suddenly Support told me that with the release of Homey Firmware 12.4.4, this problem shoud be fixed: “We have meanwhile implemented a fix for your problem of not being able to install apps. You can now download and install apps again. That shouldn’t cause any more issues”

@Peter_Kawa Thanks! Couldn’t find the issue myself elsewhere. Tried installing other apps which did work, so that’s why I thought I let the dev know  Thanks again!

Yeah it’s a bit peculiar why only some apps, or random apps even, seem to suffer from this bug.

Anyone else have this issue (seems to come from yesterday) [image] Area Finland (all other parameters not set): [image] When looking at device, can see that “Price now” is “bit” old: [image] Yesterday was OK… Fortunately PbH is only 2nd source for me so made simple workaround: [image] ------- edit ------ Seems that manual Disable / Enable helped: [image] and [image] Added PbH now to “observation list” - same has saved me already few times from panic :grimacing: (---- with edited version —) [image]

Sorry if Imissed someone else already posting this question, or suggestion, but I’d really appreciate if the app could allow the user to configure if negative values i.e. solar panels production to grid should be dedudcted from total consumption or not. Currently I get negative totals, which might be an indication of the balancee between consumption and production but it’s not the number I’m mostly interested in why a configutable option would be ideal! Oh, and I’m not using a Homey power meter, but a HomeWizard - which I assume makes a difference to what’s possible.. Thanks, and regardless of this I’ll continue using the app as I think it’s great!
