Drivie for Homey

Control your Homey from CarPlay and Android Auto, and let your Homey know when you drive off, arrive or leave.

How it works

Drivie has two parts: the Drivie app on your phone and the Drivie - Companion app on your Homey. Sign in with your Homey account in the phone app, add your phone as a device in the companion, and you’re set. Your favourite devices, flows and moods show up on CarPlay and Android Auto, and your rides and locations become flow cards on your Homey.

What you get

Standard (free):

  • Control your devices, flows and moods from CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Drive Mode: a view in the app made for the road
  • Your favourites, the same on all your devices

Pro (try for free for 30 days):

  • Flows that start when you start or stop driving
  • Flows when you arrive at or leave your own locations
  • Presence for several locations (first phone arrives, last phone leaves)
  • A lock screen card and widgets with the buttons for the place you’re at
  • Those buttons on your Apple Watch and Wear OS watch
  • Notifications from your flows on your CarPlay and Android Auto screen

One Pro subscription covers everyone in your home: €1.49 / $1.99 a month, or €10.68 / $14.28 a year. You can try it free for 30 days.

Why some features are paid

Drivie is more than one Homey app. I build and maintain two phone apps (iPhone and Android), CarPlay and Android Auto, the Apple Watch and Wear OS apps, the Homey companion app, the services behind it that get the updates to your phone, and the website. Standard is free and stays free. Pro helps me keep all of that running and keep improving it.

What’s next

Android is coming very soon. After that, this is on my list:

  • More presence cards, and per location who’s there right now, in the app
  • Guest mode: your cleaner or babysitter installs the Drivie app on their phone and scans a QR code from you. No Homey account and no Homey guest user needed. Your flows then know when they arrive and leave
  • Expected arrival time, with live traffic: “Eline is on her way and will be home at 18:10”, or the heating goes on when the first phone is ten minutes from home
  • A Location tab on CarPlay and Android Auto with the buttons for the place you’re at
