I finally got my Homey Pro about 2 weeks ago, replacing my old eedomus, and needed to integrate my RanMachine wattering device (https://www.rainmachine.com).
So, I finally developped my first Homey App Driver and it’s for RainMachine.
There are 2 drivers, one for local ip RainMachine device and one for online RainMachine device control.
You can create as many devices as you want, 1 device = 1 wattering zone.
For this time, it does not have few options, only onoff and Flow cards for activate, desactivate and one more for wattering x minutes.
But it’s full evolutive and it does the job.
I’ll publish it for for approuval in few days, I’ll finish final testing this week…
I would recommend disabling that. Forwarding ports to your IoT devices means everyone can access them. Often, smart devices use weak or no authentication for the IP access. This means that attackers might be able to access your device. I would recommend using either a LAN connection when Homey is in the same network as the RainMachine device, or using the cloud connection when it’s not in the same network as Homey.
Yes, App is still working fine.
And I agree, it has been made to work on local network, so no port forwarding and your RainMachine device should be on the same network as your Homey.
Can you access your Raimachine device with native smartphone RainMachine App on local network (not cloud link) ?
And what is the local IP address of your Homey box ?
Thanks very much, everything is fixed now. Apparently there was a problem with the Hughey Bridge which I didn’t know and couldn’t see in the apps. And then there was only the password missing, now it’s working fine. The only thing is that the number of channel does not work properly. On my RainMachine number seven is my lawn, but when I put number seven on the app, something else will start.
