[App][Pro] Panasonic Comfort Cloud Alternative

Could you also include the log from the app’s settings? (Feel free to DM me.)

I have the same issue. cant find any device. What to do?. how do i get de logs?

Open the app’s settings within the Homey UI.
The log appears in a large text field below where you enter the Panasonic account name and password.

When you login to Panasonic’s official Android/iPhone app with the same credentials, do you see the devices you expect? This is a prerequisite for my app working correctly.

sorry i thought this was about the original app. now i see this is about an alternative. Excuse for misunderstanding. I will dive into this app.

Great app. it works. But a issues with temp reading. Not receiving response in the Github Issue: AC without temp reading shows 126 degrees. · Issue #38 · ugumba/homey-panasonic-comfort-cloud-alt · GitHub

Are there more people having this issue?

The official app has had a major update.
The Homey app just needs to be restarted to get the latest API version.

Just for the record:
The official mobile app now supports Aquarea heat pumps, but our Homey app doesn’t. I think we’ll need the support added to the upstream client code before there’s any chance of this happening.

After finding out how to install and use jsnode, I managed to install the “Panasonic Comfort Cloud Alternative”
The app is working and I added my heat pump. App seems much better than the Panasonic android app.
Thanks a lot for this app
My only concern is that I’m staying on the v1.1.15. What do you restart to get the latest version?

Don’t worry. 1.1.15 is the latest version of our Homey app.

What I wrote above refers to the Panasonic’s official mobile app, which was recently updated to 2.1.0. This matters to our Homey app because it tries to act like the latest mobile app towards Panasonic’s API servers. When our app starts up, it detects (from iTunes ) the current mobile app version, and uses that when establishing contact with the server.

That’s why people who have been running our Homey app for months need to restart it (or their Homey) now to make it work again.

… and yes, this can be made automatic so a restart is not needed.
A working pull request is welcome and will receive a :+1:.

Incidentally, 1.1.16 is just pushed, to fix @ItsGardoush’s problem.
(He has a device which doesn’t report inside temperature - it appeared as 126 in Homey, but will now appear as unknown. Nobody else should need this fix.)

These guys are amazing. Quick responses and fixes. Keep up the good work. Maybe let’s contact Athom about getting this app in the market?

It’s not really Athom’s call - the app owner (me) is free to prepare and submit the app for the Homey app store.
It’s just a workload and support responsibility I’ve decided to avoid.

There’s no incentive for me. Athom and Panasonic would get free ecosystem activity from our unpaid efforts.
It’s particularly Panasonic I’m unhappy about, as they do nothing to encourage and support third party apps.

Hello.

I have put my log in details in to the app, but when I try to add a device (I have two), I can not find anything. Is there something else I need to do first?

Does the app log below in the screen where you add log-in information say anything?

Please confirm which version of the app you have installed. 1.1.16?

… and to add to @Jarl’s reply: Are you using the PCC app from the Homey app store? It no longer works, and is not maintained. This page is about an alternative app which must be installed manually (it’s not difficult). See the first post for details.

Hi Robert,

i’ve also tried to install your community app. But it is not so easy you’ve described. I’ve installed npm and log into my homey but then it is not possible for me to copy the project from git, cause it says that it does not know "git clone… " etc.

Is there anywhere a manual for DAUs?! :X

Thanks!

You are right, for some reason I thought the official version was this app. Sorry about that.
Will install it laters today a try it out.

Try the forum search tool with “how to CLI”.

Then you need to install e.g. Git for Windows, or just download a ZIP of the repo and unzip it.

I don’t know what DAU means - but everything you need is in the repo README, its links, or a Google search (or a ChatGPT prompt) away.

I am now also experiencing the same problem that a previous user also reported, namely:
“Invalid capability (homey:app:net.schmidt-cisternas.pcc-alt:air_swing_lr) value type. Expected: string. Got: undefined”

What can I do? I have tried restarting the app and Homey but the error persists.

I believe this was fixed in early April.
Have you also updated the app to the latest version?

If that doesn’t help, feel free to submit a new issue on Github, and please include a relevant part of the app log.
