Its the old otgw domoticz integration
Thanks both for you quick reply.
Any suggestions what to change in the MQTT interface? Iām quite new at MQTT and do not fully get the logic behind the terms Topics, TOP, etc.
@Jeroen_Tebbens Not sure what that means? Domoticz is no longer around. This is a āstandardā nodo OTGW with a TCP module. For my use with Domoticz the MQTT option was disabled.
Edit: Replied to fast. I tried some changes based on your remarks. And now he did find my OTGW (at least the 'OTGW boilerwatertemperature and OTGW chwaterpressure). I did expect one device. Is this correct?

Yes it should be one device. So it seems you need to change your firmware to make it compatible with the Homey app.
@evanhemmen that nodo firmware is outdated as it uses the old method that was compatible with domoticz (yes old I know, hence your firmware version is outdated).
Thanks both. I will contact Nodo shop for the best way to update my firmware (without bricking it again
).
Is there a specific firmware I should use / look for?
In the mean time the number of devices increased quite significantly, but the OTGW is offline for 11 hours. So only when installing the app for the first time there is a sign of life, after that it is quiet.
I got the gateway from the Nodo shop, completely installed from them (lazy) and it has the latest firmware as shown in this thread.
I installed the gateway today for the first time and have it connected to Homey using the Homey MQTT broker, used OTmonitor because it wouldnāt connect in the first 10 tries. Fiddling around and now it works / is connected to Homey through this app.
But now I have the same here for that offline thing, if I (re-)install the app OR I unplug the gateway and replug it after a few minutes, then it is online for a very short time and the gateway goes to offline again and stays offline. If I look at the settings in the OTmonitor, the Keep-alive Interval is 120 and the Retransmit time is 10. Playing with this doesnāt do anything.
So⦠Also here, how do I keep it online.
If you are on wifi, try if it stays online when placed next to your router. I get intermittant disconnects when there is wifi interference.
It did not help unfortunately. I also checked on the router if the wifi connection to the gateway was lost, but it did not. I am going to start from the beginning again in a week (not in a big hurry) and also redo the firmware on the gateway, or is it possible to reset the gateway in an easy way?
There is a support channel for OTGW on discord. There you can also ask help how to debug issues with the gateway: OTGW-firmware
Ok, thanks already. To be continuedā¦
you can see if the problem is in Homey or not by looking at the mqtt messages with this windows/mac/linux tool: http://mqtt-explorer.com/
You should see gateway messages, gateway status, and events like temperature values coming along every few seconds. If you dont see these messages on mqtt, the problem is likely not in Homey.
Still no luck.
- Reflash firmware through OTmonitor
- Connected to wifi
- Homey says offline (by Opentherm GateWay MQTT) after a few seconds online
- MQTT explorer says offline OTGW (mqtt is working / i see messages)
- OTmonitor ā Connection possible
- OTGW.local ā Connection possible
Any ideas or other suggestions?
That is weird. You should ask the OTGW community on discord Discord
I cannot follow the Discord link, it gives me an empty page.
But what I see on different fora, there could be a possibility that the newest OTGW is not working correctly.
Currently I have the 6.5 gateway hex (PIC P16F1847), and cannot find the older firmware.
The 4.3 gateway hex (or earlier) should work, but the gateway hex is not available (cannot find it) for PIC P16F1847.
I assume the diagnose hex will not work and you always need the gateway hex.
So. Any advice where I can find the 4.3 (or earlier) hex for the PIC P16F1847? Thanks again.
Hi,
My setup is a Plugwise (Anna) and a boiler (Vaillant eco TEC Plus) for heating and warm water.
Anna is controlling the water temperature depending on the outside temperature. (stooklijn)
My intention is the change this dynamically with the OTGW so the return temperature is as low as possible.
This all seems to be possible with the OTGW as far as I understand.
My question is if I change a setting in the boiler with the OTGW is this value then not āoverwrittenā by the Plugwise?
In fact do I need a thermostat at all? (assume I measure the room temperature an other way with Homey)
Better ask the experts on Discord: OTGW-firmware
A thermostat is a PID controller. Better ask yourself is you think you can build this proces yourself with the same amount of comfort and gas usage as the thermostat already deliversā¦ā¦
You are right and I do not want to build my own PID but the thermostat is in the Livingroom and in the daytime I do not need heat there so itās at low temperature. In my workroom I would like to have some comfortable climate. What I do now is to increase the setting in the Livingroom and keep the radiators closed. As this will not improve the ālearningā of my PID I would like an other solution.
Because you are familiar with Plugwise, did you consider zone-heating with Plugwise Adam and an extra Jip or Lisa in your workroom?
That indeed crossed my mind. My āmistakeā was that I was able to get some used Tado thermostatic valve regulators. So an option is to change to Tado for thermostat or get an OTGW.
Thanks for the advise!
