The app has a setting to disable or relax the polling on the safe guard, try playing with that
Slow it down or disable to see if that makes the rest work again
Still having a hard time getting it to work even on 1.3.6. Are you aware that the Venus E 3.0 does not support multiple hosts? At least it seems that is does not. Could it be that your app has multiple instances connecting to the battery? Preventing some functions form working?
I am, it is clearly focused around the v3 utp connections, so it is something like that. But I think I don’t have multiple connections, at least my ew11 only shows one for example.
I don’t get feedback on if the disable the safe guard does anything
Check. Yeah I am sorry but I have not had the change to get any battery working on the test firmware. As soon as I change anything the Modbus communication seems to stop working. Even disabling the safe guard polling aswell as bumping up the time does not bring it back. But I also have this 1.3.6. After restarting Homey, the app and the batteries multiple time I might get them back working. Once its working it is fine for hours.
So removing the playing arround with safe guard settings does not seem to fix anything there. Because of this I have not been able to see if the dips are also better with the test firmware
I don’t ship firmware
, let’s keep the info clean.
Because I am going to ask: did the marstek ship new firmware?
Ah yeah my bad ![]()
I mean the version of your app. Battery firmware has not changed
Iam on the test verion of your app atm. But I cannot get the polling working. Can I provide you with something to help debugging?
I think I have to revert to the version before
.
Now I just have to figure out what the version was that was stable
Hi
Installed version 1.3.14, when changing charge mode resulted in time outs.
I disabled guard and communication is up and running.
I set the guard again “on” and fast check interval on 30000: keeps working
I changed the interval in steps to 500, communication keeps working
Interval 500 is minimum to change to.
I will keep this setting to see if it will be stable
I’m still looking into the registers of the solar information, but only your app seems to be able to connect to the Marstek
But in the meantime:
The capability “Grid Power” does work in Homey. "Battery Power is a capability, but doesn’t work. If we could make that one work, I can calculate the Solar Power. Does “Battery Power” work on your Venus E?
The formula is as simple as it gets: Grid + Solar = Battery.
Maybe its heat protection or some other hardware triggered reason the firmware includes.
Your log did show me btw that my settings page does create an own unique connection, thanks for that log I now think I resolved that also.
The drops happen straight away, even when the device is at 20 degrees Celsius. I’ll wait for the next firmware and if needed will contact Marstek for more information. Thanks ![]()
Edit: since firmware V149 I’m having trouble connecting Homey to the Marstek with modbus. So I can’t test the new test version yet.
its linked to a hardware state in your battery… so it should dissapear when the state in the battery is resolved…
Send me a diag report than ill check the states.

Its not updating anymore because the device is givingtimeouts, check your network setup.
Hello,
15-06 the homey pro received an update for the Marstek energy storage app.
Since the update i’ve lost connection to 2 of 3 batteries. Values freeze and gives time outs.
I am running 3 x Marstek venus E 3.0 over 3-phase main connection, LAN connected, IP fixed with MAC.
Restarted app and homey but the problem stays. It has ran smoothly before the update.
Any suggestions?
Richard
There is a new safeguard setting that polls the battery to ensure it is doing what the app asked it to do. You can relax that or disable that. With some firmware or versions it seems to overload the modbus tcp connection.
yes, with the interval linked to it, intereseting that it is already off? Others where sucefull in reducing the interval.
